Kelly Services is looking for a Fabricator for a busy medical manufacturer in Orlando, FL

PAY- $13- $15

Job Description: The CUSTOM SPINAL TECHNICIAN is responsible for the production of custom to measure and custom to cast spinal braces, within established schedules, quality, and safety standards set forth by OPI, as directed by the Spinal Lead and the Custom Fabrication Manager.


+ 1. Fabricate Custom Spinal Orthosis.

+ 2. Participate in the design of new spinal products.

+ 3. Communicate with Customer Service/Technical Specialist and customers regarding spinal orders. Advise Customer Service of any problems with the daily workflow so that Customer Service can alert the customer of any difficulty that may arise with completing the order.

+ 4. Provide assistance to other CTC lines on an as needed basis as determined by the Custom Fab Manager to help reduce bottlenecks, facilitate team building and create a We attitude

+ 5. Participate in periodic Spinal Department and CTC Department meetings to discuss production workflow, manpower needs, proposed changes to work flow, and solutions to problems

+ 6. Trained in blood borne pathogens protection procedures.

+ 7. Help grow existing spinal sales by producing the highest quality product

+ 8. Available to work a minimum of 40 hours per week. The ability to work overtime and schedule flexibility is considered an essential job requirement.

+ 9. Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs and stand on feet for extended periods of time.

+ 10. Responsible for following and establishing safety protocols on equipment assigned in area of responsibility

+ 11. Ability to read, write and understand English language.


+ High School Diploma

+ A working knowledge of custom orthotics, ideally with an emphasis in Spinal Orthosis.

+ Positive attitude

+ Professional ethics, tact, and courtesy when dealing with anyone inside or outside of the organization.

+ Good verbal and written communication skills.


+ Balancing Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing or crouching on narrow, slippery or erratically moving surfaces.

+ Stooping Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. Kneeling- Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.

+ Crouching Bending the body downward and forward by fending leg and spine. Crawling- Moving about on hands and knees or hands and feet.

+ Reaching Extending hands and arms in any direction. Standing Remaining upright on the feet for sustained periods of time.

+ Walking Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks from one work station to another. Pulling Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.

+ Lifting Raising objects from a lower to a higher position.

+ Fingering Working primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand or arm. Grasping Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.

+ Feeling- Perceiving attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips.

+ Talking Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Hearing- Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, and having the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and making fine discrimination in sound.
