Facilities Maintenance Technician

Purpose of Position

Perform routine and extensive range of work in the repair and general maintenance of facilities, buildings, office, lab, and equipment under general supervision. All work will be done in compliance with EPA, Hazmat and OSHA safety rules and regulations.


Perform minor repair and general maintenance work of buildings, HVAC, grounds, and equipment including electrical, carpentry, plumbing, and painting tasks.

Repair and treat structures such as floors, ceilings, sinks, walls, carpets, cabinets, and roofs.

Maintain inventory of repair equipment and supplies.

Respond to alarm calls after and during regular work hours.

Generate and close work orders in a timely manner.

Respond to requests for unscheduled services and maintenance activities.

Support the packaging and/or transfer of requested items both on-site, across the Irvine facilities, and off-site.

Assist in setup and take down of company events.

Obtain and maintain aseptic gowning qualification.

Coordinate and oversee the work of third-party vendors supporting Facilities activities in order to ensure that the work is conducted safely, with high quality and completed on time.

Facility start up and shut down of plant utilities equipment including: CSG, N2 System, WFI system, and air compressor.

Oversee work of Third Party Vendors.

Recommend equipment, facility and process improvements to your supervisor.

Maintain workspace cleanliness by adhering to the 5S method of organization.

Abide by safe work practices and adhere to general safety rules. Perform all job duties in a safe manner, never placing yourself or those around you in an unsafe situation. Report all unsafe conditions to your supervisor / manager.

Qualifications - Experience and Education

A minimum of 2-4+ years relevant work experience required, experience working in cGMP environment preferred.

High School Diploma/GED required, Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred.

Coursework, license, and/or certification in electrical, carpentry, and/or plumbing preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Rudimentary knowledge of job related techniques and principles with an ability to work on routine assignments independently, requiring instructions and close supervision on new assignments.

Ability to perform work involving regular physical activity, observe safety requirements, and adhere to safe work practices and methods.

Ability to work effectively under pressure in a rapidly changing environment.

Ability to read and write in English at a level appropriate for the duties of the position in order to follow simple instructions, provide information, and read product labels.

Ability to work well independently and effectively with a wide variety of colleagues both inter- and intra-departmentally.

Ability to seek critical information from key sources to assist in problem solving.

Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner and effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.

Ability to read and understand P&ID, electrical, and mechanical drawings.
