FACILITIES TECHNICIAN


PAY RATE: $26.00-31.00/hr. (DOE) plus a .50 cent shift differential for 2nd shift and $1.00 for 3rd shift


SHIFT OPTIONS:

- 2ND SHIFT: MONDAY-FRIDAY 1PM-930PM

- 3RD SHFIT: SUNDAY - THURSDAY 0PM-530AM


This person will perform general facility, production equipment maintenance and repairs to ensure the plant meets cGMP and OSHA compliance. Is the on-site contact person for contractors. Provides works including but not limited to second shift, third shift on weekdays, weekends and holidays as assigned. Responds to emergency (e.g. fire and burglary) alarms and production, quality equipment (e.g. REES) alarms.


Job Duties:

Documenting facility, production equipment maintenance and repairs records in Computerized Maintenance System (CMS).

Installing/maintaining/repairing/tuning/troubleshooting production and facility equipment per planned schedule and work request. Repairing/modifying the facility including wallboard, carpentry, painting, plumbing or electrical services.

Evaluating equipment to identify and correct reasons for malfunctions.

Repair production and facilities equipment. Technician with equipment PLC experiences is a plus.

Requisitioning new supplies and equipment, as needed.

May construct or fabricate parts from drawings or written instructions.

Coordinating vendors and contractors as required.

Moving furniture and equipment to meet operational needs.

Responds to emergency (e.g. fire and burglary) alarms and production, quality equipment (e.g. REES) alarms.

Performing other related duties as required.

Must be willing to work in Second and Third shifts per assignment.

May need to drive company vehicle if necessary.


Experience/Education:

H.S. Diploma or equivalent, with construction trade school and/or formal training on HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical systems

5+ years work experiences in general facility production equipment maintenance and

repair with the use of hand and power tools in most of the following areas: wall board, carpentry, plumbing, basic electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.

Experience with Computerized Maintenance System (CMS). Proficiency of Windows including Outlook, Excel, Word.

Ability to read, interpret, and work from architectural, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing drawings, schematics, and single line diagrams.

Ability to work independently with no supervision.

Equipment PLC experiences is a plus.

Experience of working in GMP environment. Previous experiences in Pharmaceutical, Medical Devices and Biotechnology industries are pluses.

Valid CA Driver License and good driving record required.

Understand HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical systems.

Knowledge of WFI system.

Use of hand and power tools in most of the following areas: wall board, carpentry, plumbing, basic electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.

Working knowledge of cGMP and ISO 9001/EN46001.

Knowledge of Equipment PLC operation is a plus.

Ability to speak, read, write, and communicate clearly in English

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl or smell. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds with help of mechanical equipment.

Specific vision ability required by this job includes close and distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock.

The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, cold (non- weather), heat (non-weather), biological materials, and vibration.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Occasionally loud, where hearing protection equipment is provided.
