Kelly Science, a global staffing and solutions provider of specialty talent, is currently recruiting for a **Field Service Engineer** ! Our client in the Clackamas, OR area is seeking a qualified individual to provide support for their line of blood testing systems. Be involved in a new technology making an impact! You may enjoy this job if you would like to have a thorough understanding of new technologies, working with customers, and contributing to new product development. During your first year, you will be in training to gain full comprehension on all products, then you will be able to travel to customer sites for installations, trainings, preventative maintenance, and repairs. You can expect to travel up to 50% for this position.


**Function** : This position is crucial to the functional operations of the company as well as the customer interface. The incumbent provides technical assistance to customers both over the phone and in-person by installing, servicing, and providing on-going training of the systems. They also participate in testing of system upgrades and new products, developing new training programs, and working with engineering to troubleshoot on-going system issues.


**Pay rate:** $50k - $60k depending on experience


**Schedule** : Monday - Friday with flexible morning start time


**Travel:** 50%


**Duration:** Direct-hire (permanent position)


Full Benefits available including compensation time for travel


**Responsibilities:**


+ Provide sales support by implementing new system installation and training of customers

+ Support service contracts and rental systems by maintaining systems in the field through preventative maintenance and possible emergency visits

+ Assist in providing technical review and advice on quotes

+ Provide final quality control (QC) on outgoing systems

+ Provide inspections of incoming materials, repairs, loaners, and demo units

+ Assist in diagnosing and repairs of systems and/or instruments

+ Work with Engineering and Quality Coordinator to establish quality control procedures and root-cause analysis for a variety of systems and circumstances

+ Provide system demonstrations to potential customers

+ Create and/or implement training programs and help support worldwide distribution network

+ Provide timely assistance to inquiries and requests for technical assistance, input, and feedback to customers

+ Participate in testing and implementation of system upgrades

+ Collaborate with Applications and Engineering groups by testing and providing technical input on new methods and products

+ Research product issues to provide solutions

+ Other duties as assigned


**Qualifications:**


+ Technical degree in physical or life science

+ Knowledge of chemistry or another physical or life science

+ Experience with analytical instrumentation and laboratory protocol (can be from academics)

+ Customer service experience a plus

+ Ability to communicate effectively

+ Ability to work with customers over the phone and in-person

+ Mechanically inclined

+ Ability to work interpret and understand data

+ Ability to travel up to 50% to provide on-site assistance
