Description **Financial Analyst / Project Accountant**

**6+ month contract**

**Spring, TX**

**Summary**


+ Provides analytical support in order to deliver financial results.
+ Works with internal workers and external vendors to resolve issues and provide ad-hoc financial analysis. Prepares cost reports including forecasts/outlooks. Assists with allocation of funds for projects based on approved budgets and monitors project accounting. Validate invoices, expenditures and change requests impacting budgets.
+ Identifies and implements improvements to cost management processes for greater efficiency and effectiveness. Position is a support role requiring more work direction whereby worker follows generally defined procedures. This position might be described as Junior Financial Analyst, who normally performs basic financial analysis and routine financial reports under high supervision.
**Skills and Qualifications**


+ Financial reporting, data analysis, financial systems, attention to detail
+ Degreed accountant, would prefer project controls experience as role has accounting components as well as project control activities.
**Duties:**


+ Support the implementation of the Project Financial Control Plan.
+ Interfaces with contractors and Project Management Team.
+ Ensure controls are operating effectively; perform necessary audit / attest procedures to ensure compliance with the terms and conditions of contractual agreements.
**Tasks and Responsibilities**


+ Support day-to-day project accounting needs
+ Define and implement interfaces with prime contractor regarding financial data and information
+ Review invoices (Invoice verification) and receiving reports for compliance with Purchase Order terms and conditions
+ Review subcontracts and ensure necessary compliance procedures are in place (as required)
+ Perform necessary audit and attest reviews of Contractor’s invoices (including vendor and subcontractor as applicable), for compliance with terms and rates of agreement and adequacy of supporting documentation
+ Develop and maintain individual Invoice Control / Invoice Exception Reports
+ Maintain Controls Calendar current, performing indicated control checks timely
+ Provide financial controls system (SAP) updating and data / reports as required
+ Liaise with Tax Department on correct Sales/ Use Tax treatment; ensure project invoices and other bookings are correct
+ Liaison with Project Controls to ensure accuracy of monthly financial & stewardship reports
+ Support the PCE in Developing, maintaining accrual procedures and test Capex accruals
+ Support the PCE in Monitoring spending vs. authorized AFEs / contracts
+ With the PCE’s support, Develop and maintain report on retention money
