Kelly Services is currently seeking a **_Financial Planning Analyst_** for one of the world's largest stock exchanges located in NY, NY.

**Job Title:** **_Financial Planning Analyst_**

Location: New York, NY 10006

Type: Contract

Length: 3-Months

Start Date: Early November 2019 late January 2020

Schedule: 40 hours/week, 8 hours/day

Pay Rate: $36.81 - $40.15 per hour

_The Financial Planning Analysis group drives the planning processes for the client's OMX, including monthly close, monthly forecasts, Product Profitability, and long-range financial forecasts, and manages all financial aspects of the client's OMX s business support organizations. The business support organizations include Finance and Marketing._

**_Career Path Description:_** _Conducts financial analyses. Researches economic progressions to assist the organization s financial planning. Develops and prepares the organization s financial plans and budgets, interprets financial reports, and maintains good corporate relations with the investment and banking communities._

**Position responsibilities:**

1. Prepares draft reports to fulfill the need for financial follow up, business planning and business control within the organization, with guidance from superiors.

2. Assists Business Controller in routine monthly accounting close, forecast process and budget activities to contribute to a better business awareness and resource planning.

3. Assists the Business Controller by compiling and summarizing competitor information, benchmark data, operational effectiveness, prospected mergers and acquisitions.

4. Conducts a basic analysis of standard business and financial decisions. Education required: Bachelor s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration

**Skills, Requirements, and Competencies**

**_Core Skills & Requirement:_**

**Experience: Bachelors Degree coupled with** at least 3 years+ experience

**Functional knowledge:** Requires conceptual knowledge of theories, practices and procedures within a discipline. Requires guidance on task initially and requires supervision. Is working in a smaller defined area of the role, this continues to expand as the employee gains more confidence and capability.

**Business expertise:** Applies general knowledge of business developed through education or past experience. Often needs help understanding the commercial side or key business drivers impacting the task/decision.

**Problem solving:** Uses existing procedures to solve standard problems; analyzes information and standard practices to make judgments.

**Impact:** Has limited impact on own work team; works within standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines as described by supervisor.

**Interpersonal skills:** Exchanges straightforward information, asks questions and checks for understanding.

**_Technical Skills & Requirements:_**

**Analytical Thinking:** Collects basic information needed to analyze a problem, situation or issue. Performs routine or basic data analysis, following the correct steps and using the appropriate tools, seeking guidance when necessary. Develops an understanding of how to analyze data and identify the implications of various courses of action.

**Decision Modeling:** Makes quality decisions when provided with the necessary time and information.

**Financial Analysis:** Demonstrates understanding of the basic principles of economic research and the ability to use those principles to analyze simplistic financial measures. Understands how to use financial models to develop basic projections. Demonstrates understanding of how to synthesize and analyze basic market analyses and benchmarking data.

**Financial Modeling:** Demonstrates awareness of requirements related to basic financial modeling. Demonstrates understanding of the principles behind developing basic financial models. Demonstrates understanding of the basics about NASDAQ OMX design tools. PPM.

**Knowledge of Business Segment and Financial Markets** : Develops a basic understanding of the business segment. Research and Analysis: Prepares preliminary reports and analyses according to predetermined standards for supervisor/manager review and input.
