**Fixed Asset Analyst**

**Detroit, MI**

**Contract to Hire**

**$30 - $32/hr**

Kelly Services has recently re-partnered with our top banking customer, located in Downtown Detroit. They are currently seeking a temporary to hire candidate to join the Accounting team, to help with duties such as fixed assets and project accounting. **Training is provided and you may work from home 3 days a week!**

Monitoring & Maintain the Construction in Progress (CIP) Account

+ Prepare asset capitalizations for review and upload monthly as projects are cleared per Technology (IT), Real Estate (RE), and Retail.

+ Review project documents as received, create cover sheet, and load into the CIP Access database.

+ Update and distribute monthly agendas to IT, RE, and Retail.

+ Populate Key Factor Agenda after clearing instructions are received.

+ Ensure all closed projects are marked as such in CIP Access database.

Daily Analytical and Edit Reports

+ Ensure line items coded to CIP list valid project numbers & are appropriately coded.

+ Perform any necessary adjustments/journal entries.

+ Reconcile fixed assets general ledger balances to subledger balances

Month-End Journal Entries & Account Reconciliation

+ Post asset or project-related journal entries calculated by Business Finance or other departments, as needed to support the Accounting team.

+ Complete monthly acquisition roll-forward report.

+ Research and report on preliminary and final depreciation variances.

+ Complete monthly key factor report and distribute to management.

+ Review small equipment account for accuracy.

Technical Liaison

+ Partner with Financial Systems Support for annual system validation testing and any other testing as it may arise.

+ Serve as part of the General Ledger system implementation sub-group for Fixed Assets and Projects; helping to assess, analyze, and test capabilities for future state deployment.

+ Assist as needed in supporting General Accounting operational functions

+ Prepare, analyze, and report on Contract Labor variances


+ Serve as back-up for other Fixed Assets team members

+ Complete retirements & transfers as necessary

+ Code invoices within 48-hour timeframe

+ Complete monthly reports as needed

Position Qualifications

+ Bachelor's degree, strong preferred

+ 2 years of in Accounting Operations, such as Fixed Assets or General Accounting (Preferably)

+ MS Excel skills

+ Attention to detail
