**Flow Cytometry Technologist, San Diego, CA**

Our client is seeking a Flow Cytometry Technologist to support both quality control and research and development efforts. We are seeking a technologist to conduct experiments/tests to develop, optimize, validate, and implement new flow cytometry laboratory assays related to induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) derived dopaminergic progenitor cells. The successful candidate will also be responsible for performing routine flow cytometry quality control tests for the company's first-in-human clinical trial for the treatment of Parkinsons Disease.

**Key Responsibilities:**

+ Supports management to develop, optimize, validate, and implement multicolor flow cytometry assays.

+ Performs and provides flow cytometry support to R&D.

+ Performs flow cytometry acquisition and data analysis in FACSDiva and FlowJo.

+ Maintains, calibrates, validates, and operates flow cytometers.

+ Monitors equipment performance, diagnoses malfunctions and makes repairs or initiates service requests.

+ Prepares SOP, method protocols, reports, and other documentation.

+ Works within a cross-functional team of scientists, engineers, bioinformatic specialists and research/development associates, and closely with Quality Assurance.

+ Must be willing to work flexible hours.

+ May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


+ Bachelors Degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Chemistry, or related science. An advanced degree is a plus.

+ Minimum of 2+ years of hands-on Flow Cytometry experience and ability to analyze flow cytometry data (FlowJo, FACSDiva) required. Ability to perform high-dimensional data analysis (e.g. t-SNE, UMAP, flowSOM, SPADE) a plus.

+ Knowledge of statistical methods applicable to the analysis of experimental data.

+ Strong organizational and documentation skills.

+ Previous tissue culture experience required. Working knowledge of quantitative RT-PCR, western blots, and other cellular and molecular biology approaches.

+ Experience in assay development, clinical laboratory, Quality Control in a GxP environment a plus. Working knowledge of cGMP guidelines and analysis of cell therapy products viewed preferentially.

**Physical Demands and Work Environment:**

+ This is an indoors position requiring the ability to type and use a computer. While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The physical effort required is sedentary, lifting up to 10 pounds.

+ While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to certain hazardous materials. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. The passage of employees through the work area is average and normal.
