**Forensics Toxicology Lab Analyst-Southeast Houston, TX**

Kelly Science & Clinical is seeking a Forensic Toxicology Lab Analyst for one of our clients located in southeast Houston, TX.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

+ Extraction and quantitative analysis of drugs and chemicals in biological specimens

+ Communicating to the team assignments, projects, problems to be solved, milestones, and program issues under review;

+ Monitoring status and progress of work and reviewing completed work to ensure Analysts instructions on work priorities, methods, deadlines, and quality have been met;

+ Resolving technical problems and ensuring remedial actions are taken whenever test systems deviate from the laboratorys established performance specifications;

+ Insuring Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) exist for all testing procedures, that SOPs accurately describe and define the procedure, and writing new SOPs, as necessary;

+ Performing the testing of the College of American Pathologist (CAP) Proficiency Testing Program for the department;

+ Researching, learning and applying a wide range of qualitative and/or quantitative methods to identify, assess, analyze, and improve team effectiveness, efficiency, and work products;

+ contribute to a continuous quality improvement (CQI) program appropriate for the laboratory testing performed;

+ Identifying training needs and assuring that each individual performing tests receives regular in-service training and education;

+ Informing Laboratory of technical performances of department staff;

+ The above duties and responsibilities will encompass 80-90% of the incumbents job.

+ Following all safety policies and procedures, both chemical and biohazard. Insists that others comply with all requirements as well;

+ Perform moderately and highly complex testing on a variety of patient/donor samples.

+ Executing duties considered reasonable within the scope of the job.


+ Bachelors of Science in one of the following: Biology, Chemistry, Toxicology, Biochemistry, Medical Laboratory Sciences or similar degree equivalence.

+ 0-5 years of relevant experience.

+ Candidate must be flexible to work any shift as schedule may vary with adequate notice

+ Must be willing to be on call one weekend a month

+ Job Type: Direct Hire

+ Schedule Type: Full time

+ Hours: 7:00pm-4:00am Monday-Friday

+ Location: Southeast Houston, TX
