**Payrate: $14.00 per hour**

**Approximate work dates: 6/14/2022 -11/18/2022**

**Location: Orange County Supervisor of Elections Headquarters**

**Hours: Monday-Friday 8am -5pm + Overtime**

_Must be available for overtime. Close to election will require a lot of overtime, before and after regularly scheduled hours and weekends. Typically working a full 14 days straight near and through election._

**Position Summary**

The Customer Service Representative (CSR) provides front line customer support to the general public, officials, and candidates, and other public agencies for the Orange County Supervisor of Elections (SOE).

**Skills and Qualifications**


+ High School Diploma or equivalent

+ Minimum of one year of experience in a customer service position with regular public contact

+ Prior work experience in a position with rapidly changing priorities and deadlines

+ Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy

+ Good listening skills and desire to serve customers

+ Good communication skills with ability to exercise patience when addressing customer issues

+ Ability to follow established precedents and guidelines

+ Knowledge of phone operations and a professional phone etiquette and demeanor

+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including spreadsheets, database queries, and word processing, and ability to learn new software programs

**For CSR with Primary Switchboard Responsibility:**

+ Minimum of one year of experience in a position with switchboard or heavy phone answering responsibilities

+ Thorough knowledge of SOE operations in order to direct calls appropriately

+ Ability to effectively operate the switchboard in a noisy and open office area


+ Prior experience in a customer service role with incoming call responsibilities

+ **Bilingual in English and Spanish or English and Creole**

+ Knowledge of applicable county, state, and federal laws, rules, and regulations pertaining to election operations

**Position Functions and Duties**

+ Provide excellent customer service to the citizens of Orange County, either by phone or in person.

+ Assist visitors with voter actions including, but not limited to: registration, updates, cancellations, replacement of registered voting cards, early voting and absentee ballots.

+ Assist visitors with requests for registration drive materials, voter record viewing, petition submissions, and early and late voting during election events.

+ Work at SOE-sponsored voter registration drives and at least one municipal election. Assist with student government elections and Sunshine State Young Readers Programs as directed by the Customer Service Manager.

+ Continually develop and apply knowledge of Florida election laws in order to effectively answer questions from the public regarding registration records.

+ Assist with collection of completed registration applications for mandated voter registration sites and deliver registration and election materials to locations as directed by the Customer Service Manager.

+ Cut, date, and clock stamp all voter registration applications received from SOE drives, third party voter registration organizations or mandated registration sites.

+ Use the Florida Voter Registration system and SOE database, conduct queries and enter data into the system to maintain updated voter registrations.

+ Assist with absentee and petition work as direction by the Customer Service Manager.

+ Review and process voter records according to Florida Statutes outlining the removal of voter records.Assist third-party organizations with the voter registration application process. Complete and transmit daily Third Party Registration reports to the Florida Division of Elections.

+ Provide back-up support to the Switchboard Operator.

+ Perform all other duties as assigned.

**CSR with Primary Switchboard Responsibilities: Duties include, but are not limited to:**

+ Receive incoming calls using the switchboard and voicemail systems.

+ Route calls to appropriate person or department, take messages as needed and deliver messages to appropriate person.

+ Greet customers at counter when other CSRs are unavailable.

+ Assist CSRs with daily operations including opening and closing of the department, and any special projects.

+ Assist with Voter Service projects as directed by the Customer Service Manager

**Working Conditions**

The majority of the work is performed indoors in an air-conditioned office seated at a desk facing a computer screen. Occasionally, there may be work outdoors at voter registration sites and community venues. Requires constant contact with business professionals, members of the public, and co-workers.

This position requires full-time hours within a scheduled workweek, in addition to extended workdays and weekend work as needed, during election events, sometimes with little or no advance notice.

**Special Equipment**

Must possess working knowledge of office machines, equipment, and tools including, but not limited to: Multi-line phone system, computer, laptops, tablets, copier, laminator, paper shredder, imaging systems, scanner, election equipment, and printer.
