Service Technician Job Responsibilities

- Reviews scheduled services on route log to determine correct quantities of the appropriate materials to be loaded on the servicing truck prior to departure from the warehouse

- Verifies truck is supplied with proper quantity of envelopes, service flags, invoice bags, pens and service bulletins

- Services accounts using standardized procedures; properly calibrates applications of granular fertilizer, liquid weed control and related products to residential and commercial properties as instructed by the General Manager

- Completes required paperwork after service is completed, documents any issues with servicing or customer landscape on customer-s paperwork and route log

- Provides customer paperwork protected inside invoice bag and secured to main pedestrian door

- Posts service flag near main entrance; commercial accounts may require flag postings at more than one entrance

- Performs all assigned work in the most efficient order as directed on the route log

- Completes all daily work assignments unless otherwise authorized by General Manager

- Safely operates all company power equipment and company vehicles

- Legally parks company vehicles; does not interfere with mail deliveries, does not block neighbor-s driveway, 4-way flashers in operation when vehicle is parked on side of road, orange cones placed at rear of vehicle when in subdivisions

- Washes and cleans company vehicles as needed inside and out; once a week at a minimum

- Performs scheduled maintenance on power equipment as posted instructions state in shop/warehouse

- Accurately and legibly completes all paperwork including route logs, customer invoices and time cards; all paperwork turned into the office at the end of each shift

- Works autonomously in the field with minimal supervision after training period

- Communicates with General Manager concerning any safety, quality, production and service issues as they occur

- Continuously cross trains as needed to increase skills and abilities

- Follows Drift Management Plan to minimize the occurrence of off-target drift

- Maintains a State of Michigan Chauffeur's License

- Participates in Master Gardener Classes as recommended by General Manager

Dependability- Punctual and prepared to begin working at the scheduled time; accepts responsibility for his or her actions

**Requirements**

Testing

Prior to employment with company, Service Technicians must pass the State of Michigan Certifications for Commercial Pesticide Applicators and provide a copy of the results to the General Manager. Tests as follows:

- Core

- 3A Turf Grass

- 3B Ornamental

- 6 Right of Way

- 7A Pest Management

You will be reimbursed for all testing costs (one time per test only) and upon proof of passing grades; also upon the return of any borrowed study guides. You are required to renew certifications by the Michigan Department of Agriculture.
