We are currently seeking a Grants Data Analyst to work onsite with the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD **.**

**TASKS.** The contractor shall:

+ Perform a variety of quantitative and qualitative assessment, management evaluation activities involved in the collection, tracking, organization, analysis, preparation, processing and reporting of information related to individual and institutional extramural research training and career development programs managed by the NIDCR Research Training and Career Development Branch (RTCDB).

+ Utilize IMPACII and or QVR to perform data searches; coordinate and participate with RTCDB and other extramural NIDCR staff to monitor; aggregate and analyze progress report data for the purposes of program management, analysis and evaluation.

+ Analyze aggregate data on RTCDB program grantees and trainees and coordinate with other NIDCR Divisions, Branches and Offices, as needed, to determine significance, impact, and effectiveness of program in achieving objectives.

+ Update and maintain spreadsheets of relevant information.

+ Design, initiate, and conduct evaluation activities for the Branchs extramural training activities; generate data for Branch and NIDCR decision-making.

+ Design and conduct statistical analysis of RTCDB extramural program training data; coordinate with other NIDCR Divisions and Offices, as needed; present program data to Branch and Division staff, and NIDCR Senior Leadership, as needed.

+ Collaborate with RTCDB staff on planning, tracking, and maintaining portfolio analyses of trainee outcomes, biomedical data, and other information and knowledge as related to the RTCDB, programmatic activities.

+ Work with staff on or lead activities related to the planning and execution of meetings, workshops, seminars, and other functions involving NIDCR or NIH staff, grantees, trainees, potential applicants and other interested and participating parties.

+ Provide programmatic oversight and operations of cooperative agreements, site visits, seminars and workshops; lead implementation of meetings and workshop activities, including communications and travel.

+ Research and recommend new approaches and technologies to apply to trainee networking, mentoring, outreach, and evaluation; identify other areas for change, development or expansion of RTCDB activities.

+ Collaborate with RTCDB, NIDCR and other NIH staff on projects involving tracking, reporting, analysis and evaluation projects; serve on committees, task forces and working groups concerned with portfolio analysis and evaluation.

+ Coordinate portfolio analysis activities with the NIDCR Office of Science Policy and Analysis (OSPA).

+ Provide quality control on completed tasks.

+ Perform data analyses and database searches; identify trends and accomplishments; NIDCR and NIH reports of RTCDB extramural programs.

+ Develop presentation materials consisting of tables, graphs, slides, fliers and posters by assimilating scientific, programmatic and administrative data.

+ Serve as a resource of information on NIDCR RTCDB extramural funding activities and portfolio.

+ Monitor RTCDB web content; prepare scientific and programmatic narratives for inclusion on the NIDCR website regarding research training and career development; communicate changes and provide recommendations to update and enhance the website.

+ Provide communication and outreach with NIDCR staff, grantees and trainees, and other stakeholders; maintain and update email LISTSERVs; manage content for public website and intranet; maintain and update fliers and other communication materials, such as presentations and posters.

+ Maintain and update email LISTSERVs for communicating with RTCDB awardees, trainees, training directors and other stakeholders, as needed, and directories of awardees and trainee award recipients.

+ Work with staff on or lead in operations and oversight activities, as appropriate, including an NIDCR cooperative agreement mentoring network.

**REQUIREMENTS.** The contractor must have:

+ Ph.D. in Biology, Life Sciences or a related discipline, e.g. Behavioral, Social Science, Math, Statistics

+ Four (4) years of specialized experience plus a Masters degree is equivalent to a Ph.D.

+ Minimum of four (4) years of related experience; post-doctoral experience is a preference.

+ Broad knowledge of the biomedical/biobehavioral field, with understanding of research protocols, NIH grants processes and mechanisms, scientific or research training portfolio analysis, public health concepts, basic mechanistic biology and/or biochemistry.

+ Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint).

+ In-depth knowledge of IMPACII system.

+ Experience with statistical programs or environment such as R.

+ Working knowledge of extramural funding activities currently supported by the NIDCR RTCDB.

+ Strong communications skills, both oral and written.

+ Excellent analytical, organizational and time management skills.
