SUMMARY:


Develop, coordinate and maintain the Health, Safety & Environmental and Energy Compliance programs and certifications


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONISIBILTIES:


Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.


+ Develop, coordinate and maintain OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 systems, programs and certifications

+ Company Authorized Representative for the following:


1. Environmental Management Representative

2. Energy Management Representative

3. Environmental and Energy Team

4. Plant Representative for Waste Management, Hazardous Materials, Diposal

5. Delegate Plant Representative for Water Control

6. Occupational Safety Representative

7. Occupational Health and Safety Committee

8. First Aid

9. Equipment Office for defibrillator

10. Plant Delegate for Fire Protection & Evacuation


+ Complete and submit all required state, local and federal Health & Safety, Environmental and Energy reports, accurately and timely to the appropriate agency

+ Complete and submit all required internal organizational reporting, accurately and timely

+ Provide all state, local and federal required training and ensure all required certifications are attained and are kept current i.e. EPA, OSHA, etc.

+ Recommend and implement change in policies and procedures for all HSE programs

+ Lead, develop, train and maintain accident/injury/near miss reporting & accident investigation procedures and processes

+ Administrate Workers Compensation program, claims and case management

+ Recommend and participate in the preparation of the health, safety and environmental annual budget

+ Administrate hazardous and non-hazardous waste and recycling

+ Develop, monitor and maintain emergency action plans

+ Develop, train, maintain and lead competent Safety & Health Committee, Environmental Committee, Energy Committee, Emergency Response Team and First Aid Team

+ Identify, train, maintain and lead internal audit teams in compliance with Health & Safety, Environmental and Energy ISO standards

+ Inspect/ tour the facility to detect existing or potential accident, health and/or environmental hazards and recommend and/or implement corrective or preventative measures

+ Keeps managers and employees alerted as to the hazards of working with toxic fumes, dangerous chemicals and any other hazardous substances

+ Maintain up-to-date and accurate Safety Data Sheets in compliance with the Hazard Communication Standard

+ Administrate PPE Programs, i.e. safety shoe, safety glass, hearing protection, gloves, etc.

+ Administrate badge security system and program

+ Coordinates local HSE related topics with BOGE Headquarters to ensure we are aligned with Group Procedures and policies

+ Completes projects as assigned


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:


Bachelors Degree (BA or BS) from a four year college or university in Environmental Health and Safety or similar degree and a minimum of three years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:


Ability to read, analyze and interpret common technical documents and/or procedures, legal documents, general business periodicals, professional journals, or government regulations. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers is required. Ability to write clear and concise reports, business correspondence, procedures and/or work instructions is required. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of management, associates, customers, and public is required.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:


Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, algebra, statistics and probability is required. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations and financial information is required.


REASONING ABILITY:


Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists is required. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:


The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.


1. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand; move around the plant; handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The associate is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel or crouch.

1. While performing the duties of this job in the production area, the associate occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
