Cincinnati area manufacturer is seeking multiple candidates to fill the role of high level assemblers for their facility.

These are NOT entry level positions and they require a minimum of 3 years of experience in the following areas: Assembly of complex electro-mechanical devices with spindle experience preferred. ASE certified mechanics often do well in these positions due to the complex nature of the work and the very high level of attention to detail that is required to perform at the expected level, other positions that could have the necessary skills are heavy diesel mechanics.

Candidates who have a precision machining background are encouraged to apply as well.


3 years experience in machine tool assembly, motor, pump or transmission repair and / or completion of a mechanical and/or electrical associates degree/graduation from a trade school.

Must have excellent mechanical abilities and mathematical aptitude.

Ability to read blueprints for the assembly and testing of precision equipment (specifically spindles)

Ability to use precision measuring devices - ID/OD mics, depth mics, dial indicators for runout checks

Basic knowledge of bearings and experience with mounting bearings on shafts.

Able to understand basic electronic functionality and use electronic equipment - Multimeter (Fluke) for testing devices such as motor leads, temperature protection (thermistor, thermocouples), encoders, proximity switches.

Soldering of electrical connectors - reading electrical schematics and testing/pinning out plugs.

Job duties include but are not limited to:

Perform precision assembly work primarily consisting of grease packed and air-oil lubricated spindles.

Ability to tear down and prep company and non-company products including evaluations and write-ups.

Balance shafts, prep components for assembly, install motor rotors & stators.

Ability to operate lathe and other small machines (mill and surface grinder) to facilitate the preparation of parts for the assembly of spindles.

Ability to mechanically and electrically test and certify spindles are built and performing to known mechanical and electrical specification, and to industry standards.

The ability to set-up a built spindle or sub-assembly on our runoff stand or other testing equipment to aid or perform the certification process (vibration collection and understanding of balance is a plus).

Ability to lift up to 50lbs,

Inspection and documentation of all parts involved with each assembly & tear down.

Entering information into computer system for documentation and warranty purposes.

The ability to read blueprints and/or wiring diagrams/schematics

The ability to use micrometers, calipers, ring guages, optical comparators, dial indicators for runout checks, etc.

Excellent organizational skills

Excellent shop math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication) including using decimals/fractions.

Excellent attention to detail.

All positions are direct hire. This is a Union environment.

Shift times vary by department/position and are generally 10 hours, starting from 430a through 530pm - so some flexibility is required.

Steel toes are required for all positions.
