Position: Benefits Analyst

Location: Melville, NY

Pay: $30/hr

Duration: Temporary

Required Knowledge: Advanced knowledge of disability and leave management. Must have HR experience.


Benefits / Leave Analyst will be primarily responsible for centralized control, support and training of all leave management benefit programs; FMLA, Short and Long Term Disability and Personal Leave.

Individual will be liaison for internal employees, Human Resources, Workers- Compensation and outsourced leave vendor for the local and national population. Individual will also work with legal department as necessary.

Position will require in depth knowledge of health and welfare benefits to function as liaison between outsourced vendor, insurance carriers, third party administrators and internal employees to obtain information to research, analyze and resolve benefits inquiries and issues including; eligibility, COBRA and claims. Provide benefits support to internal employees as well as the local and national Human Resources team.

Additional responsibilities will also include review, approve and process of Qualified Medical Child Support Order (QMCSO) and Adoption Assistance applications.


- Lead responsibility for national Leave Program.

- Liaison with all vendors, insurance carriers, third party administrators, HR Generalists and payroll teams regarding, eligibility and enrollment discrepancies, claims resolution, and other issues relating to health and welfare plans.

- Conduct weekly and ad hoc benefit new hire orientations. Provide backup to Benefits Analyst.

- Responsible to review, approve, process and maintain records for Adoption Assistance and QMCSO.

- Participant in project team for Annual Enrollment including: communication, implementation, data testing, and delivery. Assist internal employees and HR Team with enrollment when necessary.

- Participate in special projects and perform other duties as required.


Advanced intermediate level professional; knowledge within own discipline and developing basic knowledge of organization, processes and customers. Good judgment, sound analytical ability, evaluation, originality and ingenuity required to perform tasks. Frequently apply the fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of a particular field. Apply company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of routine and non-routine issues.


Work on problems of moderate scope and impact where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Analyze possible solutions using standard procedures to solve a range of straightforward problems; may recommend solutions to business challenges. Demonstrate good judgment within defined procedures and practices for obtaining solutions. Build productive internal/external working relationships.
