**Job Description**

Current Responsibilities:

- Processes company's payroll every pay period. - Maintains payroll processing system and records by gathering, calculating, and inputting data. - Computes employee take-home pay based on time records, benefits, and taxes. - Responds to employee inquiries re: wages, deductions, attendance, and time records. - Receives and coordinates requests for leave and other absences. - Manages changes in exemptions, job status, and job titles. - Adheres to payroll policies and procedures and complies with CA and Federal law. - Identifies, investigates, and resolves discrepancies in timesheet and payroll records. - Honors confidentiality of employees' pay records. - Completes payroll reports for recordkeeping purposes or managerial review. - Performs the distribution of wages through issuance of paper checks or direct transfers to employees' bank accounts. - Serves as a link between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting and administering contracts, and helping resolve work-related problems. - Provides current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions, wages, and employee benefits. - Analyzes and modify compensation and benefits policies to establish competitive programs and ensure compliance with legal requirements. - Handles employee relations issues, terminating employees, and administering disciplinary procedures - Administers compensation, benefits and performance management systems. - Maintains records and compiles statistical reports concerning personnel related data such as hires, transfers, performance appraisals, and absenteeism rates. - Conducts exit interviews to identify reasons for employee termination. - Liaison and contact with all benefit vendors. - Performs other related duties as assigned


Qualifications/Skills Required:

Experience with payroll software Paychex - 2-4 years of Human Resources/Payroll experience required. - B.A. or B.S. degree in Human Resource Management, Business, Management, Psychology or a related field - Demonstrated experience in MS Office including Word, Excel and Power Point. - Knowledge of HR-related laws, regulations and requirements. - Strong oral and written communication skills. - Self-motivated with strong project management, organizational, and analytical skills. - Ability to work with company personnel at all levels.


Payroll experience is required.
