PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Under the supervision of the Human Resource Manager, you will be responsible for a variety of Human Resource duties including employee training and skill certification, staffing and orientation, site compliance to applicable federal, state and local laws. This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring HR professional to gain additional functional knowledge in a world class manufacturing environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


Essential Functions of the Job: Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:

- Support the execution of key plant HR initiatives and processes to drive continuous improvement in the areas of organization effectiveness, staffing, employee relations, performance management, training and development, payroll administration, benefits, employment practices and compliance

- Lead and direct community relations efforts

- Administers plant Attendance System.

- Tracks temporary employee hours and reviews and approves invoices from vendors.

- Engage in practical and rational employee relations efforts

- Support organization change efforts and collaborate with plant leadership to ensure successful change management approaches through effective planning and analysis, communication of change initiatives, full and active leadership support and employee involvement

- Provide counsel and coaching to all employees on a wide range of personnel matters

- Administer all plant employment actions; completion of forms, tracking metrics, etc.

- Track and analyze plant HR metrics to determine root cause and develop and execute action plans to address problem areas

- Responsible for the Training & Certification process in the plant and associated recordkeeping

- Monitors the required training for production associates and coordinates activities with operations management.

- Supports the development and facilitation of employee qualification certification and evaluation systems for the plant.

- Works with operation managers to identify, select, and train selection Subject Matter Experts (SME-s) or external vendors related to L&D. Coordinates and monitors SME training activities.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- None

TRAVEL:

- Minimal travel expected < 5%


QUALIFICATIONS:

- BA/BS degree in Business, Human Resources or related field from an accredited college or university

- A minimum of 3-5 years of hands on HR experience preferably in a manufacturing environment

- Project management abilities with excellent communication and leadership abilities

- Familiarity with HR metrics

- Ability to work the occasional off shift to support 24 hour manufacturing operations

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, SAP, Access)

- Basic Process Improvement Awareness required; Trailblazing, Lean Manufacturing, Green Belt experience desired

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- PHR/SPHR certification

- Manufacturing environment preferred

- Understanding of SAP HR systems or similar HRIS experience is helpful

- Experience with Kronos; ADP eTime or similar payroll software

Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the functions of this job. Requires working indoors in environmentally controlled conditions and plant locations. There will be a standard level of noise common to an office environment including office equipment and co-workers speaking to each other and on phones. While out in the plants there will be noise associated with a manufacturing facility. Employees are required to wear personal protective equipment when entering the floor of manufacturing facilities based on the specific requirements of each location.
