Job Overview:

As a member of the HR & Safety team, the HR & Safety Coordinator is responsible for supporting all HR and Safety functions with a strong focus on recruitment and employee relations.

General Responsibilities:

Act as the HR Ambassador. This will include but not be limited to:

o Meeting new employees at their shift start on Day 1

o Presenting basic expectations to new hires during orientation

o Following up with new hires on a regular basis to check in on their training, make sure they are comfortable, and help them feel welcome at company

o Assisting in safety training checklists and ensure proper paperwork is being completed in regards to new hire training

o Checking in with current employees

o Reporting to HR Manager and appropriate Operations Managers on activities

Assist with recruitment activity including but not limited to:

o Monitoring and forwarding job applications

o Basic screening of resumes

o Scheduling phone screens, interviews, pre-employment screenings, orientation, and other on-boarding activities as needed

o Updating candidate tracking system

o Preparing new hire paperwork

o Assisting with reporting as needed

o Completing or assisting in new hire orientation and onboarding activities

- Filing and Auditing of employee files to ensure compliance

- Active Participant on Employee Appreciation and Safety Committees

- Conduct and/or coordinate worker training in areas such as safety laws and regulations, hazardous condition monitoring, or use of safety equipment

- Assist HR & Safety Manager and Safety Manager on projects as needed

- Other tasks as assigned

Requirements for Success:

- Lead/motivate by example

- Be personal and pleasant to internal and external customers

- Positive attitude

- Willingness to be flexible with their work schedule

- Must be personable and able to get along with a diverse workforce

- Excellent proficiency in verbal and written communication

- Ensure personal compliance to the policies set forth in the company Employee Manual

- Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information

- Able to work independently and as part of a team on a broad variety of projects

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

- Well-organized, detail-oriented, and a self-starter

- Ability to execute, multi-task, and thrive in an extremely fast paced, high growth environment

Education & Experience:

- High school diploma required

- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or similar emphasis or equivalent experience preferred

- 1-3 years of HR and/or Safety experience preferred

- Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred

This is a Monday-Friday position.*

*Must be flexible with work schedule and able to spend time between 2 plant locations.

Pay rate based upon level of experience.
