**Duration: 1 year with possible extension**



**Schedule: Regular work hours (8-5/9-6) Mon-Fri. OT not expected**



**Pay $20.00-$22.00/hr**



**Day shift 7:00am-4:30pm**



**Interview: WebEx interview with camera first then in-person**



_This is a pure lab position, entry level, recent college graduate with scientific major, preferably with chemistry major, but HM is open for other scientific studies such as bio, bio tech, pharma. or candidate with no degree but related exp will be considered as well. This lab tests oil like samples and the job is messy. but not physically demanding,_



DESCRIPTION:

Selected candidate will be working in a high throughput testing lab performing Wet Chemical & Physical Testing of hydrocarbon samples.

Most of the testing involves filtrations and extractions of solids from hydrocarbon samples as well as the analysis of physical and chemical properties of Crude oil samples.

High accuracy and attention to detail is required.

The individual must be comfortable performing set routine tasks in an established time frame as well as working on independent projects requiring detailed reporting and observations.

The individual filling this position should have good organizational and time management skills.



REQUIREMENTS:

The candidate must be proficient in general laboratory techniques, be able to follow and comply with ASTM methods and Standard Operation Procedures (SOP) and have experience in performing a variety of test methods utilizing both wet chemical and physical testing methods.

The individual should also have hands on experience with basic laboratory equipment such as balances, titration equipment, filtration equipment, Bunsen burners and centrifuges.

The individual should be comfortable working with flammable materials and must have an understanding of proper chemical handling, hygiene, use, storage and disposal.

The position requires a significant portion of the day to be on your feet moving from lab to lab. Experience with hydrocarbon and oil testing preferred.

The individual must be able to work independently and interact with team members on a regular basis both written and verbally.

The individual should have the ability to interpret documents such as safety operating procedures, operating and maintenance instructions, and safety data sheets.

The individual must be proficient and comfortable working with a variety of software systems for instrument control and reporting of results and well as with Microsoft Word, and Excel.


EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum requirements for this position: Bachelor of Science in related discipline, preferably Chemistry. Mechanical aptitude is a plus.
