Location: Lake Jackson, TX, 77566, USA

Description **IH Technician**

Radiation - The Texas Operations radiation access database is owned entirely by this technician and all entries are made by the technician.

This is a restricted database as it contains information specifically required by the Texas Department of State Health Services TDSHS and includes information concerning several hundred radioactive devices concerning sealed sources, x-ray devices, and laser device information.

This information must be meticulously maintained for inspection at all times and updated routinely.

It would be beneficial if the tech role maintained a knowledge level concerning TDSHS requirements to ensure the database is properly populated and maintained per the TDSHS regulations.

It is an understanding of the why and not just entering a number. Although not critical, It would further ensure the databases are maintained in as most an efficient manner as possible and errors, by all parties, are reduced as there is a higher likelihood they are noticed.

Asbestos - Texas Operations asbestos management includes databases owned entirely by this technician and all entries are made by the technician.

This is a restricted database as it contains information specifically related to asbestos locations, removal, and remediation, across Texas Operations.

In addition, all asbestos remediation projects require certain notifications be presented within strict time frames.

There is a knowledge level of the TDSHS requirements necessary to ensure the database is properly populated and maintained per the TDSHS regulations and that the proper information is included with all notifications.

Again, it s more than just creating a document, but understanding the why would help reduce errors on all parties as more individuals would be informed on the requirements. Again not critical, but it would further ensure the databases are maintained in as most an efficient manner as possible and errors, by all parties, are reduced as there is a higher likelihood they are noticed.

MSDS - The Texas Operations Material Safety Data Sheets, now centrally located, electronic, and called e-SDS Tool , requires routine updates and maintaining of MSDS that are being included or removed from the database, with interaction from people in Midland for the transactions.

In addition, Emergency Services and Security, and others require updated portable stick drives containing all MSDS in case the electronic system is down. It is critical these groups have the latest and updated MSDS available.

The technician owns the entire process to ensure this is maintained. IH Equipment / Equipment Lab Support - IH equipment calibrations / repairs / tracking / media ordering.

The TXO IH Delivery group owns and maintains many different types of monitoring equipment such as noise meters, volume pumps, radiation survey meters, x-ray survey meters, mini-ray gas detections systems, etc.

The tech role would be responsible for maintaining the annual calibrations of this equipment which requires the equipment to be sent off and communicated with the calibrating provider.

The tech needs to be knowledgeable in the basic operation and use of the equipment in order to be successful in the task of maintaining this equipment properly.

The role will manage the Lab stock and fulfill needs as they arise concerning the functioning of the equipment lab.

Monitoring Media - The IH Delivery groups uses a variety of monitoring media such as a wide variety of monitoring tubes, badges, etc. The tech would need to be knowledgeable in the various types of media used and where they are purchased in order to maintain.
