We are currently scheduling PHONE interviews for an exciting $26.75/hr Assistant Scientist position with a major OTC health and beauty manufacturer near LAX Los Angeles, CA 90045 in need of intermediate-level chemical engineers ideally with SOME experience working in a FDA regulated industry and maybe some experience writing technical documents under that context.

1. Must be LOCAL greater Los Angeles and able to commence this 40 hour a week position Immediately

2. Must possess minimum of 4 year degree in chemistry, chemical engineering or closely related subject

3. Ideally some FDA hands on formulation experience

**Formulations Skill-Preferences**

1. Investigative Formulations, seeking solutions to formulation issues

2. Problem Solving, step by step methodology to walk through problems in formulations to resolve and improve final product

3. Self-reliance in knowing the next step in experiments/next step

4. Some Chemical Engineering FDA experience or practical knowledge is helpful

**Assistant Scientist** _Los Angeles, CA 90045_

$26.75/hr 40 Hour week 8:00am to 5pm (daily, Monday through Friday).

Full TWO year contract through Kelly Services

**Job Description:**

Assistant Scientist is responsible for the base business MS&T support of new and currently marketed cosmetic and OTC Monograph drug products for any and all consumer division franchises. This individual will be responsible for providing marketed product life cycle support for the manufacture of semisolids (creams, gels, and lotions) and liquid products within the Los Angeles Manufacturing Facility including performing root cause analysis and product impact assessments for INVs and CAPAs, performing laboratory experiments, and supporting other compliance activities. Project activities and documentation must be completed using technically solid science and at a quality level that meets the established OTC Monograph, FDA, and company Quality Compliance standards and regulations. This individual will report to the Support of Marketed Products lead at the Los Angeles Manufacturing Facility (LAP).

**Major Job Duties:**

1. Support MS&T compliance activities including INVs and CAPAs, as required

2. Perform laboratory experiments and associated testing to support MS&T projects

3. Provide Technical Justifications to support manufacturing process changes

4. Support MS&T data collection and document updates, as required

5. Maintain MS&T laboratory space to site compliance requirements.

**Additional Job Duties:**

1. Write and/or review bulk hold study protocols and reports for cosmetic and/or OTC Monograph products.

2. Conduct R&D stability testing and maintain appropriate documentation in accordance with GDP requirements

3. Provide lab batching support4. Work with various cross-functional groups

**Minimum Education & Experience:**

A minimum of a Bachelor's degree with 2-3 years of experience OR a Masters or PhD degree with 1 year of professional consumer or manufacturing experience is required. A degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or other science or engineering discipline is preferred.
