**In Vivo Research Associate / Scientist - PK/PD, San Diego, CA**



We have and exciting opportunity and are immediately seeking a highly motivated Research Associate / Scientist / Senior / RA to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team to provide in vivo pharmacology expertise to ADME studies, as well as to support ongoing Cancer Biology drug discovery work.



**Job Duties and Responsibilities:**




+ Responsible for the pharmacokinetic (PK), and pharmacokinetic / pharmacodynamic (PKPD) evaluation of novel targeted agents and drug combinations.

+ For the PK work, experience in delivering drugs via multiple routes of administration (iv, po, ip, and sq) to, as well as proficient in handling of, both mice and rats (iv through a JVC), is essential.

+ This includes being proficient in the ability to bleed mice via cheek (multiple samplings/animal) under time pressure, as well being able to dose and collect blood from the rat through the JVC and/or saphenous vein, is essential.

+ For the Cancer biology efforts, you will be responsible for PK/PD studies which involve dosing (iv, po, and ip) and harvesting of tumors and blood, and other related duties to support the group.

+ Experience with implanting and measuring of xenograft models and tissue culture using sterile technique a plus.

+ Weekend work is required, and compensation will be based upon relevant education and experience.



**Job Requirements:**




+ Bachelor's degree (B.S) or Master's degree (M.S.) in Biological Sciences or related discipline

+ 4+ years of work experience in an industry environment

+ Vast experience with mice and rat handling

+ Demonstrated proficiency with in vivo procedures (iv, po, ip dosing, blood/tissue collection, cheek bleeds) for both mice and rats under time constraints (PK and PK/PD)

+ Hands on experience with oncology animal models (xenograft and/or syngeneic models) a plus

+ Demonstrated proficiency with in vitro methods (tissue culture, Western processing) a plus

+ Additional experience including surgical skills or immunohistochemistry is a plus

+ Ability to execute, analyze and interpret experiments with minimal direct supervision

+ High attention to detail and great flexibility and adaptability

+ Ability to multi-task and work productively in a timeline-driven environment

+ Excellent communication and organizational skills

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Prism, Excel and PowerPoint

+ Positive and collaborative disposition with the ability to work easily within a team
