Kelly Engineering Resources is working with a leading **electrical contractor** that specializes in industrial plant projects. Due to growth, our client is searching for an **Electrical Project Manager** with **estimating and industrial electrical skills** in the areas of industrial plant capitals projects. This **direct hire role** can sit in **Elgin or Joliet** . As part of the industrial team, you will join other project managers and will develop bids and project schedules for electrical work that will performed at food companies, refineries, chemical plants, and heavy industry. Electrical work will be in support of new machinery or production line installations from pole to machine.



**You must be:**




+ able to read industrial blueprints, machinery service manuals in order to determine material costs/requirements based on given safety/OSGA requirements for a job or industrial application.

+ be knowledgeable on man hour requirements, prevailing wages to determine labor costs.

+ be knowledgeable on timeline specifics building industrial plants, installing machinery or retrofitting existing capital equipment in order to limit downtime of industrial electricians.



**Essential Responsibilities of the Electrical Project Manager:**




+ Review RFQs, work orders and develop project proposals

+ Estimate materials, labor and time requirements to complete projects.

+ Coordinate all aspects of project proposals, including:

+ timely proposal submissions

+ Budgets

+ Scheduling

+ staffing

+ material purchasing.

+ Examine work orders to determine appropriate course of action.

+ Study blueprints, schematics, manuals and other specifications to determine installation procedures.

+ High and medium voltage

+ Conduit

+ Industrial panel requirements

+ Power distribution from pole to machine

+ Order material/parts.

+ Request personnel for ongoing and future projects.

+ Provide start to finish support and follow-up to customers and the project foreman to ensure company quality and performance standards are reached.

+ Develop new business initiatives.

+ Work with project foreman to develop goals and a plan to complete projects.

+ Ensure that work is performed according to appropriate local, state, OSHA codes/guidelines.

+ Perform take-offs.

+ Draft change orders.

+ Coordinate multiple projects on a continuing basis.

+ Complete appropriate forms, reports and other required paperwork.

+ Attend staff/sales meetings.

+ Communicate with supervisors, peers, subordinates or customers in order to provide/receive information by telephone, two-way radio, in written form, in person or by email.

+ Use computer systems to enter, access or retrieve data. (MS Project & Accubid)

+ Work closely with the Accounting Department to ensure accurate billing is conducted.

+ Request/be present for municipality inspections.

+ Local travel to client sites (within 60 miles) for field walkdowns, site inspections, project close outs, etc.



**Qualifications of the Successful Electrical Project Manager:**




+ High School Diploma and prior experience as an Industrial Electrician or Industrial Electrical Estimator in lieu of experience as Industrial Project Manager. Prefer previous experience with an electrical contractor.

+ Hands on knowledge of controls systems wiring, installing high and medium voltage lines, machinery electrical, conduit, industrial panel installations and terminating wires, cable trays is highly preferred in order to determine materials as well as time & labor allocations.

+ Read plant and machinery blueprints, schematics, installation manuals, tape measure, work orders, instructions, processing charts and other technical material is required.

+ Strong computer skills, proficiency in MS Office is required and any project management or estimating software is highly preferred (will use Accubid but experience Primavera or MS Project will be considered)

+ Interpersonal requirements:

+ Plan/organize work.

+ Reading, writing, and mathematics.

+ Multi-tasking.

+ Conflict Resolution.

+ Communicate technical information.

+ Work independently within a team-oriented environment.

+ Physical Requirements:

+ Must be able to sit in an office for 8 hours and also walk, sit, kneel in a plant for 8 hours.

+ Walk up and downs stairs, climb up and down a ladder up to 35 feet high.

+ Clean shaved to OSHA standards when wearing a respirator

+ Distinguish between colors.
