Description Kelly Engineering has an opening for a 1st Shift Level III Maintenance Technician in the Garland area. If you are an experienced Maintenance Technician with 5-10 years in the manufacturing industry, please take a look at the following description and contact me today.

+ Disassemble production filling equipment (remove fill valves, cylinders, hopper, and supply hoses).
+ Reassemble and setup production filling equipment (replace fill valves, cylinders, hopper, and supply hoses) using hand tools.
+ Setup production lines for specific products (adjust fill volume, set cap height, set date code, and rail width).
+ Troubleshoot and repair production equipment (fillers, pumps, tanks, valves, cappers, conveyors, etc.) using their hands, hand tools, problem solving skills, computer, etc.
+ Safely use appropriate equipment for each repair (welder, hand tools, electrical meter, grinders, etc.)
+ Maintain production equipment in a technically perfect condition as per SOP’s and Machine Manuals.
+ Clean packaging area and equipment as directed using chemicals, spray hose, etc. after completing maintenance tasks.
+ Follow Safety, GMP, and SOP Procedures.
+ Use company approved personal protective equipment (PPE) as required for various tasks.
+ Perform work in Permitted and Non-Permitted Confined Space, Inside Mixing vessels, Storage Tanks etc.
+ Order equipment parts using a parts requisition form and return to Maintenance Supervisor or Designated Parts Coordinator
+ Maintain parts inventory (i.e., spare parts, tubing, fittings, gaskets, motors, etc).
+ Work long hours and call-ins as needed.
+ Work in a safe manner at all times, complying with safety, health, environmental, food and drug regulations and company policies.

+ Assist production workers with manufacturing as needed.
+ Assist the Facilities Maintenance team as directed
+ Assist Packaging Engineer with testing of new packaging
+ Assist in Performing Parts Inventory Cycle Counts
+ Clean Maintenance Shop Collectively every Friday

+ Ability to read, write and speak in English.
+ Ability to read, understand and write Wiring Diagrams and Blueprints
+ Strong ability to diagnosing and troubleshoot equipment problems
+ Ability to read and write preventative maintenance procedures
+ Strong ability to perform MIG and TIG welding.
+ Experience with high speed packaging and filling equipment.
+ Ability to properly Identify hazards and write proper Lockout/Tagout procedures for equipment
+ Strong Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, mechanical and electrical.
+ Ability to perform MIG and TIG welding.
+ Ability to perform metal fabrication i.e., machine guarding, pump stands etc.
+ Perform new Equipment installations, etc.
+ Ability to use simple math to measure fill speed, fill rate, calculate Conveyor speeds, Gear ratios, RPM, etc.
+ Willing and able to work long hours and off-shift.
+ Ability to properly use hand tools and train peers and required
+ Ability to properly use measuring devices (tape measure, depth gauge, calipers, micrometers, etc)

+ Lift up to 35 pounds from the floor level to shoulder height or vise versa.
+ Stand for up to three hours at a time.
+ Visual acuity see set up, recognize problems, troubleshoot and make repairs.
+ Sit, bend, squat, reach, pull, twist, and turn.
+ Reach forward and overhead.
+ Manual dexterity skills to use hand tools, such as, pliers, sockets, wrenches, socket sets, screwdrivers, etc.
+ Use of power equipment such as welder, hand tools, electrical meter, grinders, etc.
+ Good eye/hand coordination.

+ High school diploma or equivalent.
+ Trade school or technical school training is required
+ 5-10 years’ previous work experience in a manufacturing maintenance environment preferred.
