JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for improving manufacturing systems that integrate workers, information, machines, and processes. The industrial engineer will focus on process improvements to minimize production issues and costs while ensuring products meet quality standards. Assist in designing, developing and maintaining manufacturing processes to maximize effectiveness, efficiency and space. Ensure the company complies with all industry standards for safety while meeting design standards and guidelines.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Follows Company policies as directed by the Employee Handbook, Safety Rules and Regulations, and the Quality Manual.
Maintains process documentation for company such as process control charts, operation sheets, work instructions, forms, and FMEA sheets. Maintains controlled distribution of all documents to required departments.
Evaluates production cells for material flow to assure best flow without mistakes or safety/ergonomic problems.
Develops and improves the 4M aspects of manufacturing; man, machine, material, method.
Performs standard and machine cycle time studies on all production cells and updates standards when changes take place in manufacturing methods.
Issues standard times and maintain controlled copies of the Man/Machine Charts.
Provides capacity analysis of production equipment/cells to determine equipment utilization for new business quotes.
Recommends cost reduction proposals based on IE analysis of manning and line balance study.
Spends time on the Production floor observing and auditing daily operations.
Calculates tooling estimated usage to actual and continuously improves.
Quotes tooling to vendors for the best pricing and lead-time. Enter all quotes in to software for future reference.
Searches for new sources for tooling and spare parts.
Monitors customer portals for new or revised drawings and reports capacity data.
Processes customer and supplier drawings upon receipt and file.
Maintains and produces specific reports as required related to tooling cost, tooling usage, inventory reduction and cost savings.
Assures vendor compliance with regards to price, quality, packaging, and delivery. Makes recommendations for additions to or removal from “Approved Supplier List.” Visits supplier locations as requested.
Assists maintenance department personal for line TPM and troubleshooting problems.
All other job-related duties as requested by the Manager or member of the Management Team.


QUALIFICATIONS:


+ Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering.
+ Hands-on experience.
+ Ability to interpret product drawings and capable of generating plan layout by use of AutoCAD or equivalent.
