**Electrical & Instrumentation Designer, Construction Capital Projects**


Kelly Outsourcing & Consulting Group (KellyOCG), a managed solution provider and business unit of Kelly Services, Inc., is currently seeking a **E&I Designer** for a long-term engagement at our client, a Global Chemical Manufacturer in **Midland, MI.** This role is a full-time, fully benefitted position. **Job Overview:**


The successful candidate will be providing cost estimates of all project sizes to support capital construction and expense planning projects. This role leads the quantification of the cost of defined scope of work to enable project teams and businesses to make sound cost-related decisions to manage the cost of the project within budget and in support of defined objectives.


**General Duties and Responsibilities**


+ Work from complex, less defined notes, rough sketches, or schematics to develop engineering concepts into visual designs.

+ Specify dimensions and other data for layout and/or detailing by junior designers

+ Develops and provides lay out for original drawings.

+ Provide revisions and adjustments to design as directed by the discipline engineer(s) and senior designers.

+ Collect field data and measurements to meet project requirements

+ Responsible for drawing layout, presentations, construction specification writing and bid and construction package preparation

+ Frequent contact with consultants and construction contractors to resolve design and construction issues

+ Plans and organizes tasks and activities to meet project schedules

+ Actively participate in P&ID reviews, team checks, site inspections, and progress meetings.

+ Proficient working knowledge of N.E.C., EMETL, Client Practices and Pipe specs.

+ Proficient knowledge to ensure proper Instrument and Electrical installation.

+ Capable of reviewing submittal drawings from vendors and specialty contractors


+ Communicate to discipline engineer(s), the status/progress of projects/assignments.

+ Coach/Mentor for lower-level designers.


**Required Qualifications**


+ Must be able to work effectively with minimal supervision from senior designers and discipline engineer(s)


+ Proficient knowledge of reading P&IDs and transferring to Instrument and Electrical design.

+ Capable of working in 3-D model as required.

+ Proficient at generating Instrument Schedule, & Specifications

+ Proficient working knowledge of N.E.C., EMETL, Client Practices and Pipe specs.

+ Proficient knowledge to ensure proper Instrument and Electrical installation.

+ Capable of reviewing submittal drawings from vendors and specialty contractors

+ Proficient at directing and coordinating the works of lower-level designers.

+ Proficient at generating Electrical Strategy Form and transfer information to electrical design.


+ Demonstrates knowledge of Client AM/SL and able to write MSTs for Client contracted material

+ Proficient ability to accurately estimate time required for completion of projects.

+ Demonstrates knowledge to estimate basic discipline construction costs

+ Demonstrates knowledge to submit/write project PDNs.

+ Demonstrates knowledge to write QSPPs
