This person is responsible for completing instrument upgrades, testing, and refurbishment activities for R&D and Production equipment.


Responsibilities:


+ Support liquid handling robotic systems

+ Instrument equipment performance testing, preventative maintenance activities, and complete feasibility testing of new/custom components

+ Execute configuration/testing/QC protocols on incoming receivable devices and subsystem components

+ Provide feedback to internal teams to address failure points and make system reliability improvements

+ Assist the Support team as needed to maximize responsiveness and streamline troubleshooting in the field

+ Assist with the companys Quality process improvement initiatives

+ Support logistics activities as needed to ensure proper products and finished goods ship on time as well as provide feedback on proper inventory levels to minimize scrap and maximize customer uptime

+ Provide support on special projects, working with internal business partners, and account stakeholders. This may require learning new systems and process functionality with the support of the company to identify, communicate, and incorporate enhancements into the project(s)

+ Manage instrument sub-component configuration/quality as well as maintain spare parts inventory


Requirements


+ Bachelors degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Biomedical Engineering and/or Life Sciences emphasis preferred

+ Associate's degree required

+ Hands-on technical experience is a must - preferably in biotech / life science/robotics

+ Strong mechanical hardware skills- we utilize Liquid Handlers, thermocyclers, and sequencing devices regularly so having experience fixing robotics and/or computer/networking hardware is valuable.

+ Ability and drive to learn new systems, protocols, skills and best practices

+ Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand on feet for periods of time
