**Job Description**

Our client, a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases, has an immediate opening for an experienced Instrumentation Designer in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

+ This position will be part of the Hydrogen Refueling Systems HRS Product Engineering team that executes product development, provides bid support, supports product deployment projects, and provides design support for existing global assets.

+ Individual will be responsible for designing/drafting/ checking of 3D models to support fabrication packages.

+ Development and input of BOMs, change management, part specification, drawing revision records, compliance to APCI standards, standard design creation and reuse, and document control.

+ You will gather information from multiple sources including other disciplines, vendors, engineers, reference drawings and catalogs to produce complete functional, accurate and constructible design packages.

**Principal Accountabilities:**

+ Contribute to the creation of complete construction/build packages meeting the requirements of a project scope document using P ID, Bills of Material BOM, and piping/equipment specifications.

+ Such packages may include:

+ 3D model development SolidWorks

+ General Arrangement and Installation Drawing

+ Detailed fabrication and assembly drawings

+ Indented BOMs

+ Plot plan and equipment arrangement drawings

+ Travel to field locations and provide technical services for activities related to construction, equipment installation or plant modifications.

+ Ensure inherent process safety is adhered to on all products/projects.

+ Execute projects safely, within the budget and on schedule.

+ Work together with mechanical engineers and designers in various regions.

**Qualifications / Requirements**

+ This is a technical position and requires basic knowledge of piping and mechanical equipment.

+ Associate degree in Design from an accredited University or Trade School or equivalent work experience.

+ 7+ years experience in piping, machinery, systems design field.

+ Excellent communication and leadership skills along with knowledge of mechanical design and fabrication.

+ Able to travel approximately to facilities and other sites.

+ Microsoft Office

+ 3D Design Software: SolidWorks, AutoCAD and/or SmartPlant 3D.

+ Analytical experience is a plus.

+ Manufacturing plant operations, maintenance, and construction knowledge a plus.

+ Have high ethical standards - unwilling to compromise on worker safety and regulatory compliance requirements.

+ Highly motivated individual that can work productively in a self-directed manner with minimum supervision.

+ Able to adapt to and thrive in a fluid environment where priorities and directions may change regularly.

+ Open to continuous improvement with a passion for continual development and learning.

+ The ideal candidate must have the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all levels of the organization.

+ Possess strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
