**IT Laboratory Support Engineer, Full Time Lancaster, PA**


As an IT Laboratory Support Engineer, you will be part of a team supporting the business by maintaining the software applications and related hardware; in particular, those computer systems related to Laboratory and Instrument communications management. In this role, you will collaborate with business users, Vendors, and IT Infrastructure team to implement, support, and maintain the effective and efficient functioning of global laboratory applications.


As part of the IT Solutions team, you will contribute to the implementation and maintenance of computer systems including hardware and software applications for global use.

+ Ensure the efficient working of the Laboratory Information Systems, including laboratory equipment/ instruments/analysers, Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), Clinical Trial Management System (CTMS), laboratory reporting and associated peripherals such as scanners, printers & label printers and work with vendors as required.

+ Troubleshooting and configuration of IT systems and Instrument interfacing to support the Laboratory personnel.

+ Understand the Biopharma and Laboratory business domain and provide a proactive, professional technical support service for applications following ITIL guidelines.

+ Create and maintain comprehensive documentation / knowledgebase to ensure support, maintenance and recovery of all Laboratory related computer systems including system descriptions /configurations, change management, policies & procedures to meet Quality standards.

+ Review and determine Laboratory and hardware requirements, propose improvements to computer systems, processes, work with Laboratory management, operational excellence to automate and improve processes.

+ Create productive relationships with key users, vendors, and colleagues to ensure timely and efficient resolution of incidents/ problems and prompt implementation of changes in line with Quality compliance and IT Service/Operational Level Agreements.

+ Perform daily monitoring and maintenance of systems, review error logs and resolve as required

+ Work closely and collaborate with the Business Operations and Information Technology teams to support Laboratory systems, process improvements and contribute in setting up computer systems.

+ Contribute to user training ensuring the correct implementation and use of the applications.


+ ITIL foundation certification is preferable.

+ Self-organizing, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

+ At least 3-5years work experience in Healthcare/ Laboratory environments. Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience is required.

+ You have a good understanding of Laboratory automation with a background in agile, DevOps, programming & Cognitive Services (AI, ML), database management (eg Microsoft SQL/Oracle), scripting tools, PowerShell & application configurations.

+ Critical thinking and analytical skills with troubleshooting and complex problem-solving ability.

+ You have attention to detail and are motivated by high quality results. Capable of supporting multiple projects and can work in an agile way.

+ As a customer service focused individual, you take the initiative to automate processes and are inspired to continuously improve computer systems whilst ensuring they remain regulatory compliant.

+ You have practical knowledge and experience with some or all of the following: Laboratory equipment/ instrument, Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), Clinical Trial Management System (CTMS), Analysers, Reporting, Databases, Interfaces, including HL7 message protocols and associated peripherals such as Scanners, Printers, and Label Printers.
