**Salary DOE - $50K - $65K**

**Junior Buyer - Planner II -** Under general supervision of the Materials Director, coordinates procurement and distribution of materials, parts, equipment and supplies.

**Duties and Responsibilities**

**Essential Duties**


+ Responsible for maintaining adequate inventory to meet production needs yet minimizing inventory levels. Plans and orders materials and services by negotiating with suppliers for pricing, delivery, payment terms, and KanBan arrangements to meet company requirements.
+ Establishes internal KanBans and assists peers with setting up KanBans. Is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the Kanban system and daily communication as needed with suppliers. Maintains data to calculate delivery performance of Kanban suppliers.
+ Reviews Manufacturing Requirements Plan or other raw material replenishment reports as needed and reacts accordingly to maintain appropriate inventory levels. Maintains the integrity of the QAD system to insure inventory accuracy, prompt payments to suppliers, and Item Master data.
+ Assists with ensuring accurate inventories
+ Attends regular meetings and communicates frequently with Materials, Production, Quality, Accounting, and Engineering. Participates in project teams as assigned.
+ Is the liaison between suppliers to resolve quality or financial issues.
+ Assists with projects within the Materials group as required.

**Qualifications** **Education and Experience**


+ 2-4 years buyer/planner experience in manufacturing environment or equivalent
+ Prior raw materials purchasing accountability experience
+ High school diploma or GED
**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**


+ Exposure to lean manufacturing techniques preferred
+ Ability to make decisions within defined procedures; able to handle different and specialized situations in job
+ Ability to follow established priorities; expected to evaluate and respond to new situations requiring immediate attention
+ Able to effectively write e-mails, faxes, and letters to clearly outline company’s position
+ Knowledge of various types of office equipment (telephone, fax, copier, personal computer)
+ Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)

**Physical Demands and Work Environment** **Equipment Used**

Telephone, calculator, computer, copier, fax, printer, and other business/office equipment.

**Environmental Conditions**

The majority of time is spent in an office environment with frequent visits to the on-site manufacturing area. Possibility of occasional visits to local and out-of-town suppliers. Overtime required.
