Kelly Services, Inc. is happy to **exclusively** present a long-term contract opportunity for a **Material Data Expert (MDE)** at Dow Chemical in **Auburn, MI** .

+ _Required Experience:_ A minimum of 2-3 years of relevant work experience is required (i _.e. Supply Chain, Information Systems, Master Data Management),_ Ability to learn and adapt with dependability

+ _Great Experience_ : Experience working within SAP / ECC, Work with Data in corporate environment

+ **$16.00/hr. to $22.50/hr. based on skill level!**

+ This contract position is remote currently and will later be located onsite in Auburn, MI USA at Dow Chemical Company.

+ We are hiring in **TWO contractor** MDEs from January 3rd Start to the end of 2021 at minimum.

+ M-F 8am-5pm!!

The Material Data Expert (MDE) role resides within Enterprise Data Management and provides material data management services into Dow businesses.

+ This includes ensuring that material master data meets or exceeds data quality standards established in the Service Level Agreement (SLA) with the business/function.

+ The MDE helps manage data quality audits and cycle time metrics.

+ The MDE understands who their key contacts are within the request process workflow and provides support and consultation to those businesses and functional contacts.

+ The MDE also provides training and consultation to Material Data Stewards (MDS) that provide transactional coding assistance for the businesses they support.

+ The Material Data Expert is responsible for supporting the operational implementation of the coding business rules for the material master data.

+ The MDE knows the application/system level details pertaining to the data, where it resides and how it is used and they are the go to expert for day-to-day operation and use of material data codes for the businesses they support.

+ The successful candidate will provide operational expertise on material data for their businesses.

**_Key Job Activities:_**

The Material Data Expert provides services under the following areas:

**_Create & Maintain Codes_** :

+ The MDE facilitates the Material Code Request process for create, change, discontinue and reactivate requests.

+ They work closely with their MDS counterpart to create and maintain codes. They also ensure Material Codes are available within agreed upon Service Level Agreements or project agreements by monitoring projects, following up with assigned users, and escalating issues.

+ They provide consultation to Material Code Requestors on code request process and form submission. The MDE owns and is accountable to create and maintain Material Business Coding Rules and standards.


+ Although the MDE works independently, there are key counterparts where teamwork is a critical strength. The MDE

+ Works closest with the leveraged Material Data Steward (MDS) who is providing transactional coding services in alignment with the MDE. The MDE provides coaching & oversight to MDSs and are expected to establish an interactive and supportive team environment with them.

+ Escalates issues, process improvements and suggestions to the EDM team.

+ Works closely with other MDEs to provide backup support as well as provide coaching and consultation to their MDE peers.

+ The MDE interacts with the Dow Business that they support through various roles such as roles within Quality, EH&S, Supply Chain, Purchasing, TS&D/R&D.


+ The MDE is involved as a key material data contact in business related projects.

+ They may coordinate/validate the migration of data between system releases.

+ They may participate in Merger, Acquisition and Divestiture Data implementations.

+ They may also lead, determine scope, approach, timeline and projects steps with the Dow businesses related to business specific data cleansing, rebranding or mass code creation or discontinuation projects.


+ The MDE provides business specific coding training as necessary to new and existing users. They also provide training, coaching & oversight to Material Data Stewards.

**_Data Quality & Audits:_**

+ The MDE works with EDM leadership to define and implement data quality requirements and audits.

+ The MDE is responsible to ensure that material master data meets or exceeds the data quality standards established in the Service Level Agreement with the business/function.

+ They proactively monitor the application of Material Business Coding Rules to ensure data has been entered properly.

+ They identify and monitor Material data quality gaps, identify actions to address the gaps, and track corrective actions to ensure effective resolution.


+ The MDE works with EDM leadership to define and implement performance measures for the Material Code create/ maintain processes.

+ The MDE monitors metrics for the businesses they support.

+ They identify performance gaps in the Material Code create/ maintain processes and take corrective actions.

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills

+ Strong analytical knowledge and skills

+ Strong work process expertise for creating & maintaining material codes

+ Strong Data Content Expertise of how, when and where data is used in work processes and systems.

+ Experience in materials management, supply chain and/or IS

+ Worked with diverse team members in different geographical locations

+ Worked on multiple tasks simultaneously

+ Experience interacting with businesses

+ SAP ECC/R3 skills

+ INCA, SAP R/2 experience

**_Required Qualifications:_**

+ A minimum of 2-3 years of relevant work experience is required (i.e. Supply Chain, Information Systems, Master Data Management)

+ Strong attention to detail

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills

+ Ability to quickly learn new applications and systems

+ Ability to multi-task and work on multiple requests simultaneously

**_Preferred Qualifications:_**

+ Experience working within SAP / ECC

+ Material Master knowledge within SAP / ECC

+ Ability to work/adapt in a fast and changing work environment

+ Ability to work and thrive in a team oriented environment
