Kelly Services is looking to fill **QUALITY CONTROL INSPECTOR** openings for a company in Dakota, IL. These are temp to hire openings! You do NOT need quality experience! All that you need to know is how to email, be computer literate and have good communication skills! Most importantly, you MUST have the desire to work and be AT WORK every day that you are scheduled!


**FROM NOW UNTIL NOVEMBER 2, 2020** , there are three 8 hour shifts to choose from:

First shift 6am-2pm Monday through Friday starting at $16/hour

Second shift 2pm-10pm Monday through Friday starting at $16.50/hour

Third shift 10pm-6am Monday through Friday starting at $16.50/hour

**BEGINNING NOVEMBER 2, 2020** , you will discuss your preference with your supervisor of being transferred to day shift or to night shift. Both shifts operate off of a 2-2-3 rotating schedule. They are NOT Monday through Friday:

There are two shifts to choose from, and both shifts operate off of a rotating schedule of 2-2-3 (which means 2 on, 2 off, 3 on, 2 off, etc. you will have every other weekend off plus days during the week!)

Day shift 5:40am-6:00pm Starts at $16.00/hour (will go up upon hiring and depends on experience)

Night shift 5:40pm-6:00am Starts at $16.50/hour (will go up upon hiring and depends on experience)


The Quality Control Inspector will report to the Quality Supervisor as the immediate contact person. In the event that the Quality Supervisor is gone, the Quality Lead will step into the Quality Supervisor role in the lab and other designated roles as deemed by the Quality Manager. The main role as a Quality Control Inspector is to ensure food safety measures are being monitored per the HACCP plan and that SQF standards are also being adhered to through their variety of line activities and lab tests. This includes, but not limited to, formulations, process checks, and packaging verifications. A Quality Lab Technician 1 is an entry level position that is responsible in running one specific line competently and display an expert of that line of products. Quality Technicians are aware that it may be necessary to work overtime to cover the lab hours during vacation, short staffed or to fit the needs of the production schedule/meetings. The Quality Control Inspectors will work when needed on holidays or different shifts and should be flexible in their work schedules.

**_Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs):_**

Quality checks done in the Quality lab according to work instructions on each document of quality checks and should refer to the Standard Operating Procedures.

o Food safety checks per the line HACCP plan (i.e. formulation, ph, moisture, salt).

o Viscosities (using the Boswick meter) for all processes requiring viscosities.

o Color variations using NCI chart and Colorimeter.

o Appearance/Flavor/Aroma/Body/Texture/Mouth feel by comparing to control samples.

o When can line is running there needs to be a seamer check which consists of using CCTV Monitor (small x-ray) and check for Height, Body Hook, Overlap, Coverhook, tightness. They are also required to check the countersink.

o Drain weights according to the process requirements

o ATC testing on equipment prior to production run

o Responsible for Food safety

Floor Quality Checks

o Verify production Paperwork/Charts is being filled out correctly

o Communicating with the Production Supervisor(s)/Production Staff if problem has arisen...example- GMPS, Procedures and Policy are not being met fully

o Checking label/case code/sticker and pallet pattern to the master file and production sheet per customer request

o Overall package appearance(inside/out) before Warehouse picks up the order

o Weighing in process product during run time

o X-ray and Tap tone monitoring

o Checking Pressure/vacuum gauges according to processes requirements

o Using a ruler to measure headspace/pull-up and security checks according to the process requirements

o When product is non-conforming the Quality Technician(s) is responsible for putting the product on hold and generating a NCP. Once NCP is generated Quality Technician(s) is responsible for placing hold tags on product, locking product up if red placard and making sure it is place into QC status in the Ross System.

o Inspecting/pre-op the cleanness of the Production equipment and overall area

**_Education, Training, & Experience:_**

Candidate must know how to use email.

Candidate must be computer literate.

Candidate must have good communication skills.

Candidate must have a strong eye for detail.

Computer and Math skills are preferred.

Candidate will be able to handle high demanding stressful environment.

At a minimum, on the job training should last approximately 10-12 weeks.

High School diploma/or GED required, will accept experience in lieu of.
