Description **Lab Director -You must have or be able to obtain a Colorado Key Badge (Salary Range 80K-120K per year)**

This positon requires a PhD in Chemistry, Pharmacology, Medicine or equivalent experience with a minimum of 5 years practice with relevant analytical methods plus quality systems and high level performance.

This positon reports to the President. You will carry out duties by supervising/managing the lab, personnel and work with customer service, sales, and front office staff. Must also work accordingly with the Quality Assurance Director to ensure all data generated is accurate and in compliance with Company quality systems including but not limited to ISO 17025 guidelines, and company quality system requirements.

**Duties/Responsibilities:**


+ Create laboratory methods for analytes and matrices of interest and complete validation of methods
+ Manage daily operations and ensure laboratory samples are completed in a timely and efficient manner by monitoring the laboratory work flow and assisting with laboratory analysis.
+ Minimize the number of laboratory production sample retests.
+ Train incoming staff on procedures, work instructions, and methods.
+ Assist with acquiring new clients.
+ When necessary submit articles, papers, and or presentations to periodicals, publications, trade show bodies, and University based presentations.
+ Help plan and implement company goals based on industry knowledge.
+ Perform day to day sample processing duties and delegate duties to other department employees.
+ Manage laboratory staff including: training, scheduling, workflow and personnel issues.
+ Responsible for ensuring the lab is correctly staffed to provide adequate coverage.
+ Answer client’s technical questions and needs.
+ Manage department inventory by making sure all necessary supplies are ordered.
+ Responsible for budgeting.
+ Responsible for the timeliness and accuracy of the reporting of results to clients.
+ Ensure the quality of analytical results.
+ Ensure employees are adhering to QA systems and SOP's.
+ Assist the QA department in the implementation and requirements of ISO 17025.
+ Responsible for updating and keeping current all department documents, training records and equipment validations.
+ Serves as Technical expert.
**Qualifications:**

PhD in Chemistry, Pharmacology or equivalent experience with **a minimum of 5 years** of relevant analytical experience. You must have current knowledge of scientific processes and analytical instruments (GC, GC/MS, LC/MS and HPLC). You must be able to understand and apply analytical chemistry principles and available technology in the analysis of samples.
