**Lab Technician I - Inactivated Downstream**

+ $15/hr

+ Two shifts available:

+ M-F 7am-3:30pm OR M-F 9:00am-5:30pm




**Summary:** The Lab Technician I will work directly with a range of equipment including batching vessels, filling machines and capping machines.

The Lab Technician I will work directly with inactivated bacterial and viral antigen, batching solutions and semi-finished products following aseptic technique and cGMP procedures.


**Responsibilities:**

Essential Functions:

Set up and turnaround of all process equipment.

o Work with chemicals, steam, and pressurized vessels.

Operation of batching vessels, filling machines and capping machines.

Perform environmental monitoring during aseptic procedures.

Use aseptic technique during processes.

Perform APHIS certified sampling procedures.

Operate general production equipment such as autoclaves, pumps, scales, load cells, welders, sealers, particle monitors, etc.

Prepare solutions.

Perform daily cleaning and sanitation of laboratories and equipment.

Assemble batching and filling equipment for use in processes.

Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Document and maintain activity records according to cGMP regulations.

Maintain an effective working relationship with others.

Perform all other duties assigned.

Utilize acceptable PPE and follow safety procedures.


**Required Skills & Abilities:**

Excellent writing and communication, interpersonal and organization skills.

Good self-discipline and attention to details.

Must follow proper documentation procedures.

Must be able to work both independently and in a fast pace team environment.

Good math and computer skills.

Must have flexible work hours, and be willing to work outside of normal, scheduled hours; as necessary.

Must be able to work alternative shift hours and weekends as required.

Must possess planning and time-management skills, excellent oral and written communication skills.


**Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:**

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:

o Experience prolonged standing, some bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, stretching, repetitive motion and reaching above shoulders.

o Lift up to 25 pound frequently and up to 50 pounds on occasions.

o Use hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate office equipment, laboratory equipment, opening and closing of manual values.

o Demonstrate basic mechanical aptitude, problem solving, training ability, communication skills interpersonal and organization skills, and initiative.

**Education:**

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Work experience in a cGMP environment is preferred.

Associate Degree in life-science field is desirable.

Other:

Knowledge of cGMP and CGLP procedures is desirable.

Fluency in English is also desirable.

Experience with Lean Manufacturing is preferred.
