**Job Title** : **Lab Technician**

**Summary**
Students perform experiments in the laboratory and/or plant environment. The student will work closely with a supervisor to develop fundamental laboratory skills, perform manual and computer literature searches and maintain accurate collection and recording of experimental results. The student will provide scientific support for a specific research proposal submitted by their supervisor. Opportunities may include but are not limited to: Assay development, compound management, tissue culture, histology, biomarker analysis, small molecule structural analysis, protein expression, protein characterization, drug formulation development and analysis, drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics and organic synthesis.

Candidate must be a full-time, undergraduate student pursuing a degree in a biological science. Student should be willing and able to work 10-20 hours per week during the school year and up to 40 per week during breaks. A strong work ethic, attention to detail, organizational skills, and team-oriented attitude are essential. Previous laboratory experience and basic comprehension of standard olecular biological techniques (restriction digest, PCR, nucleic acid purification) and/or cell culture are desirable.

Role Description:
Cancer Vaccine Immunotherapeutics seeks an enthusiastic, highly motivated, responsible student who is interested in learning about the pharmaceutical/biotech industries. While primary responsibilities involve basic lab support (preparing reagents, ordering/stocking lab supplies, maintaining equipment), the position offers considerable opportunities for scientific growth. In collaboration with scientists, the student will learn and apply various cellular and molecular biological techniques to assist in the discovery of novel vaccines. Research may include molecular biology, protein purification, tissue culure, cell biology and immunology. Type and complexity of research work dependent upon experience and skills.

Job Requirements:

The hourly rate will vary based upon the educational level of the student. The budgeted rates are as follows:
• Undergraduate $15.21
• MS Student $18.96
• First year PhD $27.09

• Second year+ PhD $29.17
• MBA/DVM/MD/Other graduate level students $39.59.
