Description **Lab Assistant, Carlsbad, CA**

As a Lab Assistant, you will work with lab manager to maintain lab operations which include equipment management and tracking. The Lab Assistant will be working with an IVD product development team that is developing next generation sequencing assays to be used in clinical laboratories.

**Position Type:** Long-term contract for 1 year with potential for full time hire.

**Responsibilities include:**


+ Assisting in inventory tracking and inventory management
+ Working with R&D team as a point of contact for instrument complaints.
+ Working with instrument owner to manage equipment organization and maintenance.
+ Help maintain general lab organization
+ Work with lab management in writing and implementing SOPs
+ Supports R&D studies following approved SOPs.
+ Serve as a point for contact for instrument related issues and complaints
+ Serve as a point for contact for instrument related issues and complaints
+ Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; talk or hear and smell. The employee is frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.
**Job Requirements:**


+ At minimum, High School Diploma is required. Bachelor's degree in a science related field is preferred.
+ One (1) - two (2) years of experience preferred but training will be provided.
+ Some lab experience preferred (either via education or previous employment)
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
+ Excellent organizational and record keeping skills
+ Capable of multi-tasking and good time management
+ Flexible with changing plans and schedules
+ Good oral and written communication skills
