Kelly Scientific Resources is currently seeking candidates for a **Laboratory Assistant** for one of our top clients in **Rochester, MN. This is Regular Shift M-F 8am - 4:30pm position. 1-year Contract.**

As a **Laboratory Assistant** placed with Kelly Scientific Resources, you will be responsible for following:

**Responsibilities:**


+ The laboratory assistant is responsible for biological (e.g. blood, urine) specimen receipt, identification verification, processing and storage.
+ Performing a variety of clerical, processing, and other laboratory duties that include maintaining supply inventory, filing, stocking, receiving shipments, and cleaning.
+ Primary job duties will be in Packaging work unit, accessing and updating orders in the system, packaging and shipping blocks/slides for return to clients.
+ Works with various computer information systems on a daily basis.
+ Read specimen labels and work with numbers to prevent mislabeling
+ Be organized and able to prioritize, work in fast paced environment.
**Educational and Experience Requirements:**


+ High School Diploma or equivalent is required
+ Knowledge of laboratory functions, medical terminology, background in Science and 1-2 years medical experience is preferred.
+ Previous experience or knowledge of computers and keyboarding, telephone operations and other office equipment is desired
+ Possess effective communication skills – written and verbal
+ Must be able to work independently as well as in team environment
+ Must be able to accommodate scheduling adjustments, off shifts, holidays, and weekend work assignments
+ Be attentive to details and to adhere to strict safety requirements for handling infectious agents
