**Lab Support Technician**


M-F Standard Business Hours


Pay: $15/hr


45 Day Temp position


**General Overview of the Job:** To serve as a liaison between the central services, laboratories and other JDE personnel. To ensure control of raw materials being received into the Mareks Department and movement to and from the laboratories while practicing and promoting First-In-First-Out (FIFO). Oversee/conduct cycle counts.


**Essential Functions:**


**Cleaning/Disinfection**


Make spray bottles at the beginning of workday.


Follow cleaning solution dilution guides; make fresh cleaning solutions that are made daily, weekly


Ensure the spray bottle has an updated label with: what is in the spray bottle, any health hazards, initials, date, and the start date of when the bottle was made.


Fill out solution log


Clean assigned areas.


Clean and disinfect non clean-room areas according to established procedures. (Deep Clean, End of day mop, and harvest mop)


Fill out cleaning logs


**Documentation**


Keep concurrent records at all times. Follow the Ceva documentation standards; clear, accurate and concurrent.


To be able to read and understand the production schedule.


Fill any maintenance, cleaning, or in-use equipment logs, concurrently.


Ensure that you are filling out the correct paperwork


Verify all production records are approved for that days final product, based off the production schedule.


Turn in all completed and verified paperwork into your Team Lead in a timely manner, so it can be turned into Quality Control.


Collect logs, records, and paperwork.


When completing paperwork, turn in all completed logs or records to Team leads


Print more records if more are needed (check version control). No photocopying is allowed.


Collect all in-use records or logs at the end of the month; start new logs or records for the beginning of the months.


**Supply Inventory, Stocking 20%**


Check supply levels throughout Central


Ensure First-In-First-Out (FIFO) practices are used.


Ensure that raw materials are not expired.


Each area is responsible for their supply levels. Notify Dock Personnel when supplies are needed


Verify items that arrive on the dock.


Verify the transfer delivery note amounts are circled and the delivery note initialed and dated.


Verify the UOM (unit of measure) on the transfer delivery note is correct before performing JDE entry.


Verify lot numbers on the raw materials and the transfer delivery note are the same.


Keep cooler and freezer organized daily.


Record and properly dispose of expired items.


Ensure items are grouped together with lot numbers facing out.


Ensure First In First Out (FIFO)


Perform cycle counts as deemed necessary by management.


Cycle counts are performed by 2 technicians at different times.


Cycle count results are checked and entered into tracking system.


Supply maintenance in areas.


Ensure the minimum amounts of supplies are in each area.


Notify the correct personal to order more supplies, if they are running low.


**General Duties 50%**


**Liquid Nitrogen**


Check temperatures and liquid levels in Liquid Nitrogen storage tanks and portable dewars and fill out necessary documentation.


To be able to read and understand the production schedule.


Assemble the necessary documents for the days final product fills.


Pull seed for the laboratories the day before the seed is needed; place seed back into tanks after inoculations, and fill out seed inventory records.


Cane final product from the labs, visually inspect every ampoules and place onto a cane. Place canes into cages to be counted, frozen, and either stored at 8915 or prepared for transfer to other buildings.


Fill out all the proper logs and records for ampoule inventory.


Operate the programmable Gordinier Freezers to freeze final product from the labs, and fill out paperwork, records, or logs for the freezers.


Maintain a clean work area, and after caning processes clean the Nitrogen room, following cleaning protocols and fill out cleaning log


**Dock**


Receive items from the Mareks dock from the Warehouse following receiving protocols.


+ Insure there is plenty of a thawed raw material, thaw any needed frozen raw materials, ensuring to follow thawing protocols (FIFO), and fill out records concurrently.

+ Ensure to clean equipment, rooms, and workstations throughout the workday following cleaning protocols and fill out logs or records concurrently.


Empty waste receptacles, dirty lab suits, biohazard bins throughout the Central area, following waste removal and biohazard bin protocols, and placed on the dock at the end of the day to be taken to vendor.


Fill out temperature logs for all central rooms: Prep rooms, Cooler, Freezer, Hallways.


Restock items in the storage closet as well as the gowning shelves.


Operate forklift to bring over media pallets from 8906 Cooler to 8915 Mareks dock.


Cleaning of 8906 Cooler


Inspections for forklift/trucks need to be filled out


Check eyewash stations monthly.


Transporting supplies to and from Willow tree.


**If applicable:** DOT certified drivers are responsible for transporting LN2 Transfer Tanks. The Bill of Lading needs to be signed off and transported with the tank


**Outside Dock:**


Responsible for supplying and securing O2 tanks.


Responsible for making sure that all transfer delivery notes, packing slips and receipts are accurate and then filed in the appropriate area.


Keep cooler and freezer organized daily.


Load the truck with harvest bags and take to Red Bag


Pick up cells Tues and Friday


Receive cells Mon from the vendor


Take temps at 8906 in AM and PM fill out the log and gather the log at the end of the month


Deep Clean 8906 cooler - fill out the log and gather the log at the end of the month


Take trash and recycling (wrap the empty media barrels)


Get media from 8906 fill out internal transfer delivery note


Receive media at 8906 from the vendor


Take stericycles and bring empty stericycles back


Help un-box deliveries


Take DMSO to the pod


Drive the trucks on the highway once a month


Take transfer tank to and from 9006


**If applicable:** DOT certified drivers are responsible for transporting LN2 Transfer Tanks. The Bill of Lading needs to be signed off and transported with the tank


**Kitchen**


Operate the Autoclaves; load and unload the Autoclave, while filling out proper paperwork, logs, or records for the Autoclaves.


Be able to read and understand the production schedule.


Clean all dirty dishware and equipment sent out from the labs, keeping dishware and equipment separated by labs, wrapped in autoclave paper, labeled, and placed in the Kitchen to be autoclave when the labs need to dishware.


Maintain a clean and organized working station when wrapping dishware.


Prep work needs to be done daily.


Make cleaning solutions, following cleaning solution protocols, and fill out cleaning solution logs.


Be aware of hazardous wastes solutions, and ensure that proper disposal of hazardous waste is either allowed to go down the sink or poured into disposal containers and sent out to be disposed of.


Maintain communication with the labs.


Maintain Inventory of Lab Dishware. Restock Lab Dishware when levels are insufficient.


Must be gowning qualified.


Ability to troubleshoot minor issues on the Autoclaves.


Weekend shift will need to check temps and levels.


**Labeling**


To be able to read and understand the production schedule.


Operate the Label machine to place authorized and approved labels onto ampoules, to be filled with final product from the labs.


Operate the dry, hot oven, to clean and sterilize the outside of the ampoules.


Fill out all paperwork, logs, and records that go with ampoules and equipment used to label the ampoules, concurrently.


Maintain a clean workstation, only work on one serial at a time, and have station inspected in between serials.


Troubleshoot issues on the label machine.


**Clerical**


Be able to operate cell count machine, following cell counting protocols. Fill out logs for cell counts and update corresponding spreadsheets.


Be able to read and understand the production schedule.


Order office supplies for Central.


Be able to fill out and request labels, for the final product, following the production schedule. Once the labels have been approved and authorized, print the labels and fill out all the paperwork, logs, and records that goes with the labels, concurrently.


Update spreadsheets


Requests production records for labels from Quality Control, following the production schedule, and paperwork request protocols. Be sure to have paperwork available the day before the final product is produced.


Be able to operate the pH meter, following calibrations and pH measuring protocols. Fill out logs for pH calibrations and measuring, and then notify the labs with the pH measurement.


Order tabs and maintain the tab inventory spreadsheet.


Communicate with Willowtree.


Collect records and take to QA.


**Floaters**


Follow weekly rotation schedule between the dock, kitchen and nitro areas.


When working in an assigned are you are to report to that areas Tech II/Team Lead.


Tasks are to be completed before leaving assigned area.


Help with dual caning


**Optional:** Help with unloading/counting of Frozen Amps
