**Laboratory Technician (6 months contract, Pensacola, FL)**


**Overview:** Kelly Services is seeking a motivated, hardworking individual to join our clients team as a Lab Technician. This is a 6-months contract/temporary position for a leading filtration systems company in Pensacola, FL.


**Location:** Pensacola, FL


**Shift:** 1 st , M-F, 8 am 5 pm


**Pay:** $17.50/hr


**Type:** 6 months contract


**Job Description:**


The R&D Temporary is responsible for performing laboratory experiments; pilot scale experiments; collecting, analyzing, interpreting, and compiling data and results under the supervision of the R&D group leader and scientists. The R&D Temporary may be required to assist the fabrication, modification, and maintenance of experimental apparatus. The R&D Temporary is expected to assist in the preparation, set-up, and execution of production scale membrane casting runs and post-treatment processes.


+ Calculate and prepare laboratory formulations and chemical solutions.

+ Perform laboratory screening of new membrane formulations.

+ Perform screening of new membrane formulations working with manufacturing equipment and personnel during R&D pilot runs.

+ Assist in preparation, set-up, and execution of R&D and manufacturing scale experimental runs.

+ Collect, analyze, interpret, and report data and experimental findings.

+ Fabricate and/or modify experimental apparatus or manufacturing equipment.

+ Assist in the development of new testing methods or procedures.

+ Perform routine and specialized QC of developmental membranes.

+ Provide general laboratory and administrative support including, but not limited to, inventory maintenance, safety audits, and maintenance and upkeep of the laboratory and warehouse.

+ Perform other general support duties as required.


**Required Skills & Experience:**


+ A good working knowledge of polymers and/or polymer engineering typically gained through formal education in physics, chemistry, materials science, or polymer science/chemistry or related field. Industrial experience is advantageous.

+ Good computer literacy skillsproficient with Windows, word processing, spreadsheet, database, and e-mail program operation.

+ Good problem-solving skillsthe ability to analyze a problem thoroughly and develop and implement effective solutions.

+ A strong mechanical aptitude, ability to operate laboratory equipment and work safely with chemicals.

+ The ability to collect, analyze, and present data and conclusions in a logical, thoughtful fashion.

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

+ The ability to work on several simultaneous assignments while maintaining proper attention to detail.
