Kelly Services is currently seeking a Laboratory Technician in Allison Park, PA to work a contract assignment of 6 months for one of our top clients. **Primary Responsibilities of the** Laboratory Technician **includes:**



**The main focus of this job is running surface senstive tests on baked paint panels and working with spreadsheets of data in Excel**




+ The incumbent will support the development of decorative coating technologies within the Automotive Functional Coatings Team.

+ Work will be performed at the Coating Innovation Center with an emphasis on fundamental technology development.

+ The candidate will perform a variety of routine and non-routine functions directed toward property testing and evaluation of coated panels, which requires preparing samples for testing, performing property measurements, gathering data, and recording detailed account of results in an electronic laboratory notebook.

+ Additional responsibilities include: maintaining a clean and safe laboratory, cleaning equipment and disposing waste materials.

+ The candidate must be willing to work safely with hazardous materials if needed, follow rigorous safety procedures, and wear personal protective equipment.

+ The candidate will work closely with a supervisory chemist who will provide specific and detailed instructions regarding sample preparation and procedures, but the successful candidate will themselves be responsible for prioritizing their daily tasks and maximizing productivity.

+ He/she will also be required to work independently and collaborate with chemists, engineers, technical assistants, and/or project leaders.

+ Previous coatings experience is preferred.

+ Good record keeping

+ Good mechanical and math skills

+ High Proficiency in Excel and handling large amounts of data in spreadsheets

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint

+ Must comply with all safety and EH&S procedures

+ Willingness to learn new equipment and techniques including surface property measurements

+ Ability to communicate and write effectively

+ Willingness to learn and work in a team



**Education and Experience Requirement of the** Laboratory Technician **includes** :




+ Associate degree or higher in science or engineering related field, or laboratory experience in an industrial chemistry lab.

+ Previous coatings experience is preferred.



**Additional Information:**




+ Contract assignment, duration 6 months.

+ Work schedule: full-time, first shift

+ Pay Rate: $13-14/hr (based on experience)
