A leading chemical manufacturing company located in the Beaumont, Texas area is currently seeking a Lab Technician to join their team! This role is a long-term opportunity with a rotating shift schedule.

**Day to Day Functions of the Lab Technician might include:**

+ Perform non-routine and routine complex analyses.

+ Ensure the effective operation of analytical systems and the labs adherence to Operating Discipline Management System (ODMS).

+ Assure the quality of analytical data provided to produce and release product

+ Implement and verify the performance of new equipment

+ Perform quality control tests on in-process, raw materials, and finished product

+ Operate a variety of analytical instruments, including gas chromatographs, high performance liquid chromatographs, thermal analysis equipment, automatic titrators and spectrometers.

+ Assist production with troubleshooting (non-routine sample analysis)

+ Collect samples that involve complex procedures.

+ Perform non-routine and complex routine analyses.

+ Monitor analytical systems, evaluate validity of data, apply statistics, interpret results, and take appropriate action.

+ Manage raw material and product retain samples

+ Effective delivery of timely accurate analytical results by the lab including:

+ Sample submission process for routine and non-routine analyses

+ Calibrated and maintained equipment

+ Sample analysis

+ Data capture and management in SAP/LIMS

+ Information Technology tool management

+ Sample and inventory management

+ Document EH&S and ODMS procedures

+ Review analytical requests for value and alignment with goals

+ Route analytical requests to the appropriate service provider.

+ Implement response plans for requests.

+ Schedule and perform work according to the Sample Plan, Emergency Contingency Plans, maintenance, and Quality Control schedules.

+ Schedule and perform advanced calibrations and maintenance of analytical systems.

+ Perform in-depth troubleshooting of analytical systems.

+ Efficient troubleshooting and issue resolution:

+ Resolve SAP issues for raw materials, intermediates, and finished product

+ Document, communicate, and archive analytical results, calibration and maintenance data

+ Document shift notes and task completion in OPD tools (LogBook and Task List)

+ Partner with the On-line Analyzer Technician to assure consistency of on- and off-line data.

+ Perform first line troubleshooting of laboratory Information Technology (IT) and data handling systems.

+ Monitor and maintain calibration standards and consumable items

+ Help troubleshoot plant and customer problems.

+ Implement and verify the performance of new equipment

+ Assist in adapting and implementing laboratory IT and data handling systems to the needs of the unit.

+ Network with others to leverage technology, and problem solving and prevention.

+ Continuously improve EH&S and analytical performance.

+ Participate in reviews to identify opportunities to optimize the number of analyses performed on-line and in the lab.

+ Follow and train others on the Analytical Work Process (AWP), analytical systems, and EH&S and ODMS procedures.

+ Participate on plant empowered teams as required

**The Ideal Candidate Will Possess:**

+ An Associates degree or higher in a relevant field.

+ At least 2-3 years of relevant experience.

+ An eagerness to learn and become a part of a long-term team.

+ Practical wet experience in a lab
