Kelly Services is currently seeking a Laboratory Technician II - Materials Production Technician in Cheswick, PA to work a contract assignment of 12 months for one of our top clients. **Primary Responsibilities of the** Laboratory Technician II - Materials Production Technician **includes:**

+ Sample processing and handling of chemicals including isocyanates

+ Physical property testing and characterization

+ Data entry, processing, and documentation

+ Physical ability to lift 50 lbs. as well as manipulate and transport samples and lab materials

+ Maintain and improve lab space and equipment

+ Other duties as appropriate for a laboratory technician position

+ Willingness to pick up new responsibilities in a research environment, accept feedback and training, and maintain practices individual is trained to

+ Adherence to safe work practices and compliance with all environmental, health, safety and security protocols as specified by PPG personnel or documented procedures

Required Skills/Experience:

+ Good cooperative interpersonal and communication skills

+ Ability to work proactively either independently or in a team

+ Proficiency with MS Windows and MS Office; with a particular emphasis on MS Excel

+ Experience with standardized testing methods

+ Rudimentary understanding of statistics and experimental methods

+ Fundamental understanding of physical and mechanical properties of materials

+ Experience maintaining/repairing electrical and/or mechanical devices

+ Aptitude with hand tools and simple metal working/fabrication

+ Demonstrated experience in conducting scientific experimentation and documentation (report writing)

**Education and Experience Requirement of the** Laboratory Technician II - Materials Production Technician **includes** :

+ Minimum education of an Associates Degree or equivalent in a science, technology, and/or engineering related field (e.g.: physics, chemistry, material science, polymer science, mechanical engineer, plastics engineer, chemical engineer, engineering technology)

+ or 2 years of experience in a manufacturing (or manufacturing support) role.

**Additional Information:**

+ Contract assignment, duration 12 months.

+ Work schedule: full-time, first shift.
