**Lab Technician - La Crosse, WI**


+ This position is for an experienced Chemistry Lab Technician that will work in a team to support/enable projects related to development of new products and technologies within the laboratory of the Materials & Chemistry Network of Excellence.

+ This role will work across the the business units to support leading edge technologies in the area of Tribology and Refrigerant System Chemistry. This position will primarily involve performing a variety of routine and non-routine lab tests to support projects within these technology areas.

+ Monday Friday

+ 8:00am-5:00pm

+ $19.50/hr


+ Requires an Associates of Bachelors degree in Chemistry or a related field with a minimum of two (2) years experience in a testing laboratory.

+ Equivalent combination of education and/or experience will be considered.

**Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:**

+ Support the development and implementation of specialized refrigerant and lubrication testing capabilities.

+ Support testing of materials and fluids for research and routine engineering projects.

+ Work with senior staff to support non-routine tests and investigations, utilizing sophisticated analytical equipment.

+ Plan daily experiments, take initiative on individually assigned tasks, ensure organization to project support.

+ Acquire, analyze and compile data; contribute to technical reports, and communicate results within cross-functional engineering teams.

+ Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

+ Collaborate with chemistry and materials team members to optimize or troubleshoot procedures, processes, or equipment.

+ Comply with good housekeeping and company safety practices. Comply and contribute to chemical hygiene.


+ Strong background/experience in chemistry or materials science.

+ Detail-oriented and conscientious.

+ Experience with chemistry and materials testing techniques using destructive and non-destructive test methods such as HPLC, GC, ICP, GC-MS, and other instruments. Experience does not necessarily need to include previous use of all of these instruments.

+ Mechanical aptitude to enable support design and implementation of Fixturing for lab tests.

+ Proficient in problem solving with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

+ Strong interpersonal skills and capable of independent supervision.

+ Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office software and other generally available software programs.
