We are currently seeking a Laboratory Technician to work onsite with the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD **.**

This is a long-term contract position which offers:

TASKS/SERVICES. The contractor shall:


+ Perform preliminary research and information gathering.
+ Perform bioassays of cell and tissue culture.
+ Work with staff to conduct mouse experiments.
+ Perform immunological assays, including western blots and immunohistochemistry
+ Perform PCR, RT-PCR and quantitative PCR.
+ Work with staff on the preparation and analysis of laboratory experiments.
+ Work with production team staff on data, including collecting and performing data entry.
+ Manage study documentation; maintain and file documents.
+ Update and maintain files of all applicable regulatory documentation for IACUC and IRB, including protocols, approvals, amendments, modifications, etc.
+ Clean, disinfect and maintain laboratory and equipment.
REQUIREMENTS. The contractor must have:


+ Bachelor’s degree in Biology or a related discipline.
+ Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a biomedical or research laboratory.
+ Experience with mammalian cell culture.
+ Knowledge of sterile laboratory techniques.
+ Experience with immunohistochemistry.
+ Experience with molecular biology and cell biology.
+ Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, Outlook).
+ Strong communications skills, both oral and written.
+ Excellent analytical, organizational and time management skills.
