**Kelly Science and Clinical is seeking Lab Technician candidates for a project with one of our top clients in Oakdale, MN. This is an excellent** **opportunity** **for recent Science graduates to gain hands-on professional laboratory experience while contributing to the fight against Covid-19! Hiring immediately with flexible scheduling to accommodate full or part-time work.**



**Location:** Oakdale, MN



**Compensation:** $18-20/hr



**Shift:** First, Second or Third shift and Weekend Shift options available. Full or Part Time Hours.



**Length:** This is a temporary position lasting six months to one year with possible extension based on funding.



**Job Description:**


Accessioning/Manufacturing technicians are responsible for receiving, evaluating, and entering specimens into the laboratory information management system (LIMS). Tasks will also extend to procurement, inventory, and distribution of laboratory supplies. Operate under BSL2 Plus conditions with proper PPE while handling samples. Additional tasks will include preparation and shipment of specimen collection components to clients; preparation of proprietary reagents, and general laboratory duties as assigned by direct supervisor.


**Accessing Technicians Job duties:**


80% of Time:




+ Receive samples.

+ Inspect and ensure all samples meet quality control specifications.

+ Scanning and staging samples entering the COVID workflow.

+ Verify the accuracy, validity, and completion of all data entered into the LIMS system.

+ Executing molecular procedures in Biosafety Cabinet (BSL2)

+ Execute SOPs for inactivation, extraction.

+ Verify the accuracy, validity, and completion of all data entered into the laboratory information management system (LIMS).



20% of Time:




+ Assist with general laboratory management/maintenance.

+ Assist with making proprietary reagents needed in COVID workflow

+ Assist with miscellaneous tasks assigned by direct supervisor.



**Manufacturing Technicians Job duties:**


80% of Time:




+ Receive and inventory all reagents/ lab supplies

+ Ensure all workstations are stocked with supplies as specified by direct supervisor.

+ Prepare and Ship specimen collection components



20% of Time:




+ Executing molecular procedures in Biosafety Cabinet (BSL2) hood.

+ Execute SOPs for inactivation, extraction.

+ Verify the accuracy, validity, and completion of all data entered into the laboratory information management system (LIMS).

+ Assist with general laboratory management/maintenance.

+ Assist with miscellaneous tasks assigned by direct supervisor.



**Qualifications**

Required:




+ Bachelors degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related discipline or a combination of related education and expereince to equal 4 years.

+ Comfortable handling biological specimens.

+ Excellent communication skills.

+ A willingness to work in a fast-paced, high volume laboratory.

+ High attention to detail.

+ Ability to work in a HIPAA environment.

+ Ability to lift 50 lbs.

+ Adherence to all laboratory and regulatory safety guidelines.



Preferred:




+ Experience in a CLIA or CAP regulated molecular biology or genomics lab.

+ Ability to identify problems and troubleshoot experiments.

+ Flexibility in changing job duties.

+ Experience with high throughput workflows.

+ Ability to be on your feet for > 80% of shift.
