Job Description:

The Research Assistant support the laboratory needs to maintain the R&D lab space, perform R&D research projects under the supervision of Principal Investigator. Research related tasks include preparing samples used for assay development and validation, organizing materials and paperwork for research projects, and perform experiments. In addition, the responsibilities include for equipment validation and processing clinical samples accurately and efficiently using laboratory equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

+ Responsible for performing research and laboratory tasks for projects and products, in collaboration with others.

+ Makes detailed observations, analyzes data and interprets results. Prepares technical reports, summaries, protocols, and quantitative analyses.

+ Prepare reagents and supplies for experiments. Maintain the lab space, including cleaning, inventories.

+ Projects require the ability to read and understand relevant scientific literature.

+ Contacts are primarily with direct supervisors (PI) and others in section or group for guidance and regarding status of work projects.

+ Contribute to the team research environment in a manner conducive to the success of the research project as a whole.

+ Production (clinical sample analysis, for employee with BS degree)

+ Collects, prepares and evaluates patient specimens for analysis and perform technical procedures with accuracy and precision, meeting the standards of all accrediting/regulatory agencies in a timely manner

+ Operate laboratory instruments and equipment and perform equipment maintenance according to the laboratorys standard operating procedures

+ Recognizes unusual patient results and identifies problems in analytical procedures/systems; responds with appropriate investigation and/or corrective action

+ Troubleshoots assays and equipment which fail to perform adequately Observes established safety guidelines and maintains cleanliness of the laboratory

+ Keep a meticulous and organized record of specimens, tests, instrument logs, and technical analyses

+ Maintain stringent standards for quality, identifying any issues which might adversely impact the quality of test results and/or employee safety, and communicating these to the appropriate management representatives as necessary for resolution

+ Participates in activities required to support all necessary licensure for the clinical laboratory, including quality management functions and on-site inspections of the laboratory.

+ Responsible for maintaining updated understanding and knowledge of the methods employed in the laboratory and the use of the resulting information by physicians through continuing education activities.

+ Accurately document and maintain all records for equipment and instruments


+ Bachelors degree in science or related major is required. If an applicant is going to obtain BS degree, we will consider the applicant in case by case basis.

+ Minimum 0.5-1 years of related experiences in a laboratory, demonstrating a high level of competency

+ High level of accuracy is required with a special attention to detail

+ Experience in a minimum of 2 areas listed below is required.o Immunoassay (ELISA/EIA)o Western bloto HPLCo LC/MSo Solid phase extractiono DNA extraction and Sterile techniqueo RT-PCR and Proficient with pipetting low volumes (< 3L)o Robotics/automated high throughput system for molecular assay and/or EIA assayo Data analysis

+ Must have previous lab experience with BSL2 materials

+ Basic research techniques (air-displacement and/or positive displacement pipettes, vortexer, incubator, micro-level weighing, pH mater) and problem solving skills

+ Prior experience and knowledge of CLIA and CAP regulations

+ Experience in pharmacy or pharmaceutical science is a plus.

2 Shifts available

Day shift 9-5:30 M-F

Swing shift - 2-10pm -M-F

Pay Rate:

$50/yr-$52/yr ($24-$26/hr)
