Description **Laboratory Validation Project Specialist**

**Location:** Redwood City

**Schedule:** Part Time, 24 – 30 hours, day shift hours

**Job Type:** Assignment until the end of the year

**Your Role:**

As a member of the team, the Laboratory Validation Project Specialist will play a key role in the Quality Assurance department supporting validation, optimization and implementation of several new instrumentations, LIS middleware and processes in multiple departments in our CLIA accredited clinical laboratory.

In conjunction with the Clinical Laboratory Scientists, the Laboratory Validation Project Specialist will plan, coordinate sample testing, submit data for acceptance review and support instrument and middleware implementation. In addition, the Laboratory Validation Project Specialist will:


+ Ensure all regulatory and CLSI standards are followed for instrumentation and middleware validation studies
+ Support the implementation of process improvements to accelerate assay and middleware validations
+ Meet validation project deadlines with high quality validation summary reports
+ Work with scientists to support data analysis, acceptance criteria and performance characteristics using EP Evaluator
+ Maintain organization and excellent laboratory documentation
+ Clearly define and communicate data and concepts
+ Be a supportive team player who is motivated to collaborate with internal teams and vendors
+ Work with other team members to advance the provision of ESRD testing in healthcare settings
**Your Qualifications:**


+ Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical or biological science or medical technology from an accredited institution and at least two years of CLIA laboratory experience in non-waived testing with instrument and assay validations.
+ ASCP Clinical Lab Scientist or Medical Technologist accredited Preferred
+ Knowledge of accepted clinical laboratory practice and procedures, including handling of potentially infectious material
+ Familiarity with California law relating to the practice of medical technology
+ Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate effectively in English, in person and on the telephone
+ Experience in writing validations plans and summaries
+ Proficient computer skills and experience with data analysis software, and analytical instruments in multiple specialties. Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook) and EP Evaluator or other data analysis software
+ Strong analytical problem-solving skills and the ability to follow complicated instructions accurately
+ Excellent organizational skills
+ Experience conducting multiple validation studies in various department’s simultaneously
