**LAN/WAN Technician**

Location Details: East Liberty, OH

Travel: 10% between Ohio plants

Overtime: 5 hours per week

1st/2nd level network problem detection, analysis and resolution for HAM site production and office environments:

- Routed/switched networks

- Wireless network infrastructure

- Physical wiring installation and troubleshooting

Coordinate with cabling contractors to install and/ or demo out fiber and copper wiring for misc. requests and plant projects.

Analyze network monitoring tools to provide timely and appropriate alerts based on accurate thresholds.

Plan, design and implement network architecture additions and modifications within the plants.

Understand networking/cabling best practices , Honda specific networking standards, and plan new installations accordingly.

Manage all aspects of new network installations, coordinate with vendors, schedule work, communicate progress with customers and management.

Work with Project Manager to manage network aspects of various projects including documentation, design, purchase, installation, vendor coordination

Problem detection, analysis and resolution of the wired and wireless network using tools such as Fluke, Ekahau, Omniview

**Academic/Experience/Competency MUST HAVES:**

Excellent project management, planning, scheduling, coordinating, and status reporting skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Good problem analysis skills.

Strong commitment to customer support.

2+ years experience with Cisco Wireless Networking, deployment of Access Points and experience using Cisco Prime / WLC 4+ years Cisco enterprise wired networking experience, including network design and optimization responsibilities

Ability to work under pressure during network interruptions to restore network operations and determine root cause analysis

Ability to work as part of a network team or unsupervised as needed

Ability to multitask with different projects or tasks as needed

Tasks completed on a daily, weekly, monthly, or annual basis; project assigned

Proactively monitor network devices using monitoring tools SolarWinds NPM, Cisco Prime, Nagios etc.

Multi-task and prioritize according to business priorities and production availability requirements.

Support hardware adds / moves / changes, cabling changes / repairs , replacing network equipment , network reorgs, etc.

Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve network connectivity issues to support LAN/WAN and Wi-Fi networks

Ability to understand, explain, and document network infrastructure designs and upgrades Coordinate vendor installations, equipment quotes, project implementation and coordination with local departments Installation and troubleshooting of network equipment such as switches, access points, copper and fiber optic cabling, UPS, network racks, AC units

Adhere to change control policies and procedures.

Work overtime, adjusted shifts and weekends as required, including on call support during off-hours.

**Knowledge, skills, abilities, traits, certifications, PREFFERED**

Network certification a plus Network A+, CCNA, CWNA

Working knowledge of surveying, designing, installing Cisco wireless infrastructures using tools such as Ekahau, Air-Magnet, Spectrum Analyser

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., use a boom lift, climb stairs and ladders

Experience with software such as Visio, AutoCAD, MS Office Suite

Experience with Linux, scripting, Raspberry PI
