**Responsibilities /Duties**

+ Function as a Mechanical-PCE Lead on medium to large projects up to $10 million Total Installed Cost (TIC). The projects will be located in plants in the US Gulf Coast (Texas and Louisiana) & Canada.

+ The successful candidate will be able to create technical specifications and required engineering deliverables for both fixed equipment (sometimes referred to as static or rotating equipment) as well as process containment equipment (sometimes referred to as pressure vessels)

+ Key activities will include:

+ Provide support through the project life cycle from Front End Loading (FEL) through Detailed Engineering & Construction

+ Manage quality of deliverables, schedules, man-hour budgets, weekly/monthly status reporting, and effectively lead the Fixed Equipment Discipline team, while coordinating diligently with other project Disciplines, i.e.: Process Engineering, Piping, Civil, etc.

+ Create technical specifications of Pressure Vessels, Process Towers/Columns, Drums, Reactors, Filters, Coalescers, Jacketed Vessels, Shop/Field Fabricated Tanks and other fixed equipment; develop fixed equipment Datasheets and Layouts; review/approve client specifications; prepare procurement inquiry packages; technically evaluate bids, and issue order packages for fixed equipment; coordinate review of suppliers drawings/data; suppliers coordination; supplier quality/inspection coordination

+ Provide advanced technical direction to other engineers, designers, and modelers assigned to the project

+ Understand and use Clients equipment procurement process.

+ Ensure that environmental regulations and Client Safety and Loss Prevention Principles are considered in design.

+ Coordinate the input of supplier design data into the overall project design.

+ Coordinate additional discipline requirements into the design of fixed equipment.

+ Participate in inspections and testing as necessary

+ Develop detailed fixed equipment installation and operation instructions, as applicable.

+ Provide technical support during construction and operation of facility, as applicable.

+ Mentor other personnel in the application of design tools and work process methodology.

+ Meet and correspond with suppliers and/or external personnel on as-needed basis.

+ Experience working with multi disciplines (piping, electrical, civil, mechanical, process engineering, process automation) throughout the project cycle to resolve inter-discipline issues and concerns to provide an error free IFC (Issue for Construction) package

+ Understand project scopes of work and read marked up P&IDs.

+ Review FEL and IFC work for consistency and completeness which is completed by Clients high value engineering center in Chennai and provide guidance and coaching as necessary

+ Provide oversight during the construction phase including occasional site visits.

+ Follow Client Most Effective Technology (MET) and elevate issues when MET cannot be implemented

+ Once familiar with Client standards and work processes, the Mechanical-PCE Lead is expected to work independently with minimal oversight and guidance

+ Represent the mechanical-PCE discipline team in Project Team Meetings.

+ Ability to multitask with multiple projects

+ Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and prioritize appropriately.

+ Ensuring a safe work environment by working safely and, complying with environmental, health and safety standards.

**Required Skills:**

+ Working knowledge of industry codes and standards: ASME VIII DIV-1/2, ASME II, ASME V, TEMA, WRC-107/297, ASCE, ANSI, ASTM, PIP, B31.3, API-660, API-650, API-620, and other engineering related industry standards.

+ Understanding of Codes and standards governing the PCE discipline (ASME, API).

+ Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are required to effectively communicate with other project team members, suppliers, and stakeholders.

+ Complete understanding of Code calculation inputs and outputs.

+ Experience in reviewing and approving technical drawings and documents as they pertain to the design and evaluation of PCE.

+ Experience in the analysis/evaluation of existing process containment equipment.

+ Ability to effectively work with a wide variety of people including plant/business management, other engineers, crafts, NDE technicians and suppliers.

+ Experience working with diverse groups and cultures.

+ Ability to troubleshoot and support start-up of production facilities and in service equipment failures.

+ Ability to learn new work processes and tools.

+ Willingness to work in a multi-discipline environment. Interaction and integration of work with other engineering disciplines is required.

+ Willingness to work in an atypical design environment utilizing unconventional design techniques and methods to resolve non-traditional, out-of-the-box problems.

+ Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a high pressure environments.

+ Self-starter, independent, ability to work with very little supervision, great work ethic, willingness to learn, take direction/instructions, and accept constructive criticism.

+ Willingness to ask questions for clarification and seek help when needed.

**Required** **Qualifications**

+ A minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering is required with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience

+ Periodic field visits to look at project scopes required and ability to wear a harness as needed

+ Proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.) is required

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ A minimum of 3+ years working on Capital Projects OR 5+ years of maintenance or relevant manufacturing experience

+ Zyqad (Datasheet creation software) and Adept (Document Control software) experience is preferred.
