**Operational Lean Specialist in Durham, NC**

**This is a CONTRACT position for the remainder of 2022**

**Heave Lean / Six Sigma background along with Black Belt required**

**Must have experience working in a GMP environment**

**100% onsite**

**Hourly rate ranging up to $48/hr (pay based off years of experience)**

**Operational Lean Specialist**

+ Help in building Lean Operational Excellence strategy and execution roadmap for the site.

+ Enable & inspire Lean thinking by driving continuous improvement (CI) behaviors throughout the site

+ Provide Lean tools, training, direction & coaching to teams

+ Lead or facilitate Continuous Improvements projects, initiatives and workshops

+ Partner with departments to assist in execution of roadmap plans on building and maturing of key Lean systems

+ Provide coaching for site leaders & team members to develop the Lean/Operational Excellence mindset

+ Provide Systematic Problem-Solving training, coaching and support throughout the site

+ Assist in formal training programs such as Lean Six Sigma

+ Provide coaching & mentoring for project leaders across site

+ Provide expertise to site in a variety of other areas (as appropriate): statistical & data analysis, MS office products, project management, change management, etc.

+ Responsible for prioritization and coordination of team members to drive continuous improvement projects across the site.

+ Help in establishing baseline and target metrics for key processes to drive cost effective improvements.

+ Assist with project prioritization process for improvement projects.

+ Assist in setting goals and monitor progress.

+ Provides support for initial and ongoing Lean events (Kaizens, Value Stream Mapping, and Lean training) to ensure consistency and proper application of Lean tools & processes


+ BS/BA degree in Business Management, Engineering, or other related field of study with combined 1-3 years of Lean/Operational Excellence experience.

+ 2-5+ years of experience in manufacturing, maintenance, quality, engineering, and supply chain

+ Ability to manage multiple projects and work with cross-functional teams

+ Ability to work hours necessary to support activities

+ Demonstrates coaching, communication, change management, & leadership skills

+ Experience in helping build strategy and execution roadmaps

+ Basic knowledge and experience in a manufacturing environment.

+ Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification is preferred.

+ Experienced in facilitation and influencing skills. Has ability to drive change.

+ Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and Smartsheets.

+ Must have a working knowledge of foundational LEAN tools and methodology such as Systematic Problem Solving & Visual Management

+ Ability to lead and/or co-lead process improvement projects.

+ Excellent reading, writing and verbal communication skills. Strong teaching, coaching and presentation skills required.

+ Solid analytical/statistical problem-solving skill; ability to analyze and interpret basic statistical data.

+ Experience working in a **GMP environment**

+ Strong assessment and troubleshooting skills.

+ Must be self-driven and accountable.
